Christine de Pisan was a feminist and scholar who lived from 1365 - 1429. She once wrote "Though men usually say that women's knowledge is useless, they should instead be grateful to Carmentis who invented the Latin Alphabet. Thanks to her, men have been brought from ignorance to knowledge, even if they do not recognize it."
