PYTHON CONNECTION Cleese met Chapman at Cambridge University. They began performing and writing together in the Footlights Society in 1962. They were joined by Idle in 1963. Cleese met Gilliam in New York in 1964, while performong on Broadway. In 1966, he collaborated with Palin, Jones and Idle on BBC's The Frost Report.
