Some toys and cake toppers are provided by my clients.
They are purchased from specialty cake shops, toy stores
or the Internet. My favourite specialty cake shops (in
Malaysia) are the International
Centre of Cake Artistry and Bake
With Yen.
Stickers
Famous characters on the cakes (such as Mickey Mouse,
Bratz, Cars, etc) are either stickers or printouts that
are not edible.
However, to make them stand on the cake, they are sugar-glued
to edible 'sugar-boards'. If your kids wish to eat them,
just peel off the stickers or printouts, and nibble on
the 'sugar-boards'.
Sugar Craft
Some characters are created entirely from sugarpaste
or royal icing. This requires certain skills and techniques
which result in slightly more expensive cakes.
