Their sides forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend out of what We have bestowed on them. No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward of what they used to do. (As-Sajdah 32:16-17)

As Salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Imam Ahmad (Rahimahullah) recorded that Al-Nu`man bin Bashir (Radhi Allahu Anhu) said, "The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said:

«إِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ هُوَ الْعِبَادَة»

(Indeed the supplication is the worship.)'' Then he recited,

(And your Lord said: "Call upon Me, I will answer you. Verily, those who scorn My worship they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!'' (Surah Ghafir 40: 60)

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) taught us a Dua for every act. The Dua is recited before, during or after the act.

Insha Allah in the next few weeks we will study together some of the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) relating to Duas and Supplication and at the same time try to implement them in our daily life. I would like to stress a few points.

Firstly that these Duas are Mustahabb (highly recommended or encouraged) and no one is committing a sin by omitting them. Dua/supplication is a very personal matter between Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and His servants. By learning and reciting these Duas we will be a) turning to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and acknowledging the fact that only HE can answer our Duas and  b) practicing a Sunnah and thus Insha Allah we will be greatly rewarded by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and we will be increasing our weight on the scales on the Day of Judgment. Allah loves a servant who turns to HIM all the time and Insha Allah He will protect us from Shaitan and his army and all other evils which He created.  Ameen

I have uploaded a few Duas here with Audio, others can be found at:

www.makedua.com is a good site for Duas and Supplications.

Sincerity is the key word here.  Our great scholars have mentioned many factors that play a role in the acceptance of our Duas. All of them however emphasis that Sincerity is the most important condition needed, in order to get our Dua answered. And Sincerity means having the firm belief that the One upon Whom we are calling, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala is ALONE able to meet our needs.
