The stakes were high Saturday in Farmington. For the Braves it was easy; win and they're in. For the Frogs; they needed a victory and a Genesee loss to earn the Southwestern Division's fifth and final playoff spot...but that became a moot point.

The Braves jumped on Dousman pitching early and often. Starter Mike Hoff was chased after an inning and two-thirds, after allowing six earned runs. But there was no relief, as the Braves picked up where they left off when Jason Magadanz entered. After back-to-back, 2-run doubles by Nick Heiting and Billy Owens the Braves were up 9-0 and set 'er on cruise.

Tribe starter Phil Hochmuth continued his mastery off the Frogs. After shutting out Dousman earlier in the season, the righties only miscue was an RBI single to Joe Ellifson in the sixth. The Braves offense was paced once again by Owens, who ended his regular season by going 4-for-4, and drawing 2 walks. Heiting scored four runs, adn drove in two, in his 3-for-5 effort.

As soon as reliever Nick Heiting got Tim Meyer to ground back to the mound to record the final out, the jubilee began, and the crowd emptied out onto the field to celebrate with playoff bound Braves. The scoreboard read: Farmington 16, Dousman 1.
