The Braves headed into Saturday's contest quite a bit under-manned as five of the starters apparently had know idea there was a ball game to be played. With a make-shift line-up, inlcuding the likes of Animal and Skipper in the outfield the Braves couldn't even keep it competitive.
In the bottom of the first Red Dogs scored twice on Farmington's own Red Dog, starter Scott Hueckman. Brian Karasti drilled an RBI double, and Dave Gerdman singled in another. Sullivan struck again for two in the fifth, when hits by Karasti, Gerdman, and Jim Wenzel did the trick. Karasti paced the Red Dogs all afternoon, recording a 3-for-4 day, driving in two and scoring three.
Farmington scored its lone run when Phil Hochmuth drove in Matt Zickert with a triple to right-center. This was the second straight game the Braves could only muster one run. It is often known as the "Weber Slump", not only does (North Prairie's) Dave Weber shut you down, but the effects linger into following games.
This loss drops the Braves to (6-9) and may have erased all playoff hopes.
