Stay Tuned....Coming soon, on Sunday July 23, 2006 @ approx. 11:00 A.M.
Pastor Dave from Maywood Evangelis Church is going to perform the ceremony at "The Red House". A few kids and adults are going to be baptized. Ralph Tolan (the owner of The Red House) has borrowed a small horse trough to use. I have never been immursified but I have been sprinkle baptized. So, I am excited to get immursed now. I have invited the few people that I know and desire to associate with in Rockford and the surrounding area. I realize that it is a public exclamation of my faith, and to me, that says ALOT!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The baptism went off without a hitch. It was a good service and a good time. It actually started with Ralph, finding the equipment, and the people to perform the ceremony. However, not everything went good. Late last week, we had our computer system purged, and the hard drive got wiped, including all the programs we needed to play the music and videos, as well as ALL of our power point presentations. So, we had no computerized graphics or DVD music videos. But that is ok- we will get that fixed soon enough. As it was, a guy let us use his stereo system at the last second- so we did have a little music. Saturday night we all spent most of the night prepping the food for Sunday's service- chicken, salad, cake, rice, and scalloped potatoes (home made). We did all of this despite working almost a full day for some of us. With little sleep, I woke up at about 430 AM I to start cooking the chicken and scalloped potatoes. We ended up loosing a member of the crew- he deserted us right in the middle of serving breakfast to the early morning Bible studiers. But that too was ok. The food ended up being splendid in the long run- everyone seemed to enjoy the meal. As far as the actual baptism went, well, let me assure you that the water was COLD! But, since I was the first to get wet, I set the example for the rest of the adults as well as mostly for the children. Almost everyone I invited showed up, and even people I knew but didn't invite. My spiritual advisor (Shan) brought me a gift- a beautiful wolf picture- that is something I will cherish but not as much as I will cherish the day in itself. Pastor Dave was a perfect fit to do the ceremony. A lot of my friends that do not live close by were just as excited for me, and told me how proud I made them. Well, if it were not for a select few people here in Rockford (they know who they are),chances are that none of this would even have happened in the first place. So there are too many people I need to personally thank, but I thank each and everyone of them, and myself...and most of all, my LORD and SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST!
