February
16, 2003- Each week, leading up to the 2003 BFL season, there will
be a look at each BFL franchise, with the player's own perspective
on the 2003 Season.
After
a missing the playoffs in his inaugural season in 2001, Rich had
one of the most successful seasons in 2002. The Crusaders, became
only the 3rd Franchise to finish a season 3-0. In addition, he won
the 2002 "GoGo Award" (MVP), and the North Division Championship.
But a first round playoff loss ended his amazing season in disappointment.
Commenting on his playoff loss, Rich stated, "I feel as if
I didn't deserve the undefeated season." He also said that
this 2003 season will not be disappointment "if I at least
get to the playoffs." Rich however has his sights on more than
just the playoffs. He clearly feels that he can win BFL Bowl VI.
Only 4 teams have ever won or participated in the BFL Bowl, Rich
wants to be the 5th.
Regarding
the 2003 season, the Crusaders play 3 difficult games against the
Gamblers, Sand Storm, and the Sparrows. Rich circled the game against
the Sparrows because it is the team that knocked him out of the
playoffs last year and is his chance to avenge his loss. Rich flat
out stated that, "[The] Sparrows will be the hardest game."
And the way he is going to win is simply, "Determination."
Rich said that this year he will be better than last year because,
"I have better hands (and ability to catch the ball) than before."
The Crusaders will play their 3rd season in 2003 and Rich says that
in 2003, "Zombies are Back!"
