March
15 , 2003- Each week, leading up to the 2003 BFL season, there will
be a look at each BFL franchise, with the player's own perspective
on the 2003 Season. Here is the 6th BFL Profile.
"I'm
ready to take it up to the next level"-Sean
One
wouldn't expect an expansion team to play as well as Sean did in
his first season. A record of 1-2 and no playoffs was the outcome,
yet he could have been 3-0 if he limited his mistakes. Sean of the
Fear reflected on his first season. "It was a good first effort.
A lot of the problems that I had can be attributed to lack of experience,
especially the first game against Mark. My second game came down
to overtime, and I won the game I had called I would [against the
Bulldogs]. Overall, I reflect with happiness, but it only gets me
more psyched up for this year."
Looking
ahead to this 2003 season, the Fear have possibly the toughest schedule
in the league. First, the defending BFL Bowl V Champion Sparrows.
Then the Gamblers and Black Knights. A combined 7 playoff game appearances
between these three teams in the last two seasons. "This is
definitely a tough schedule, but the BFL is full of them this year."
Sean is looking forward to the Gamblers game. "From a vengeance
standpoint, it's definitely my rematch with the Gamblers, but the
Sparrows game is my most important game of the season." Sean
stated that, "I've got to get off this season on the right
foot, and to do so, I have to go through the defending champions."
Sean
feels that he will be able to keep with all of these high powered
teams these year. This upcoming season we will see an improved Fear
team from last years. During this off season, "I've worked
on my jumping ability, and my endurance. I want to get my wind to
the point where I can go no-huddle, and use that to confuse the
opposition." Ideally, Sean would love to be in the BFL Bowl.
When asked what it would be like to be in BFL Bowl VI, Sean responded,
"Absolutely amazing. I'll be going off to college in August,
and that would be the highlight of my career to this point. And
if I get there, I assure whomever my opponent may be that he is
in for a heck of a game."
Sean
added that, "I'd just like to thank Ken, Howie, and the BFL
gang for letting me into the league last year, and for all the Fear
fans out there, I'm ready to take it up to the next level."
