March
21 , 2003- Each week, leading up to the 2003 BFL season, there will
be a look at each BFL franchise, with the player's own perspective
on the 2003 Season. Here is the 7th BFL Profile.
All
good things must come to an end. This statement can sum up the Black
Knights history. Sort of. In John's first two seasons, he was 7-1-2,
and plus 79 on points. In fact, John played in BFL Bowl Bowls III
and IV in his first two seasons and came away with the BFL Championship
once. The Black Knights were the best team in the league. However,
last season, John slipped down to 1-1-1 and missed the post season
for the first time. "Last season was tough, but it was fun.
I think that the only factor was my lack of determination. But that'll
all change this season." John is entering 2003 with a new attitude.
He wants to win.
So
which Black Knights team will we see this year? It looks like John
will be back to the same form that he was in in 2000 and 2001. John
explained why he will be successful this year. "This season
I'll start playing smarter like using the clock better and other
strategies." In addition, John said that he has improved physically.
"Before this season, I was involved in a number of Frisbee
tournaments. This will improve my physical status, so I won't be
sluggish in the later half of the games."
Looking
ahead to the Black Knights schedule, John plays the determined Bulldogs,
the expansion Icebergs, and the always tough Fear. His opponents
combined for a total of 2 all time wins. "The game I'm anticipating
the most is probably against Mark of the Icebergs. Even though they're
a rookie team, he has a very promising future in the BFL. And I
want to be one of his first rivals in the league." John gets
to play three teams that he has never met before. He starts off
in a game against the second fastest team in the league, the Bulldogs.
The
Black Knights are ready to get back to the find success again. "I'm
definitely going to get back into the playoffs this year. But I
can't guarantee BFL Bowl VI." Will the Black Knights return
to top of the league status this year? There is a good chance of
it.
