This is my largest coil to date a three inch dia  22 inch tall little tower of power . Runing wide open it will produce 1to 3 , 48-58 inch sparks:)!
The coil form is 3"acrylic tubing wound with heavy insulated #26 awg  I made the secondary tall 22"  H/D 7.33/1 , now I know that this is supposed  to be to tall and the wire should be bigger but I wanted the Inductance .I also use huge topeloads on this coil this was all an attempt to allow me to use large primary capacatance <while keeping at LEAST 8 turns on my primary coil> in case I want to run it off of microwave transformers.I now use two 12000V 60ma neon transformers.Thay work quite well:)  The primary is 1/4 soft copper on a 25deg  angle It is a old primary I modified .I will build one that is at a 35deg . I  set my toploads on top of a large salid bowl this acts as an excellant corona shield. I have had ZERO strikes to primary  and very few to ground ,must go out to the side while a few will reach up . The two x-formers put out 1440VA of power I lose 10% in the rf filter Iam now using a R-C
set up
I make the two x-formers charge .025uf MMC the spark gap is set a little closer than par<1.42"> my gap is set at 1.2"

Afte the first lighting I had to rearange my whole workshope  It was wounderfull Sparks hit the walls the celling  and even my old CD player now it's my dead CDplayer <a small price to pay >.The bolts were long and hot and screamed as they tore from the torous                     The sound of the discharge drowend out the sound of the sparkgap!Allways wear ear protection!!
