Triumvirate Tournament - 29th June 2002

The JAG club has been going for several years and it seemed like a good idea to branch out and try something new. So the Triumvirate tournament was organised, bring together teams from several local clubs. One of the main differences between this and other tournaments was the setting up of different worlds (a group of three tables using the same terrain worlds). There were 5 different worlds; Death world, Agri-world, Ice world, Toxic Ash waste and Moon world.

If you would like to see the rules we used, including special world rules, they are available here; Tournament Details

Ice World

The Ilkey lads get to grips on the Ice World.
Tyranids are attacking Imperial Guard in the middle section.
The Ice world was notable for a terrain effect which was invisible but very frustrating, the blizzard. When the blizzard came, movement slowed and long range shooting was very inaccurate.

Moon world

Marines advance on the Necron menace on bleak Moon.

Toxic waste world Two Chaos armies clash in the foreground of the Toxic Ash waste.
Rob Kancidrowski (on the left) won the prize for the most sporting player, with a perfect score of 15.
Death world An overhead view of the Death world with players from Ikley playing some of the JAG club.
Main Hall Overall view of the main hall.
Tyranids attack A close up on the combat between Tyranids and Imperial Guard on the Ice World.
Chaos Rhinos forward Two Chaos Rhinos full of Khorne Beserkers deploy smoke, with other Chaos forces in support.
Tau under attack A view of Paul Marshall, the only player brave enough to use Tau, from the view of the Black Templars attacking him.
Tyranids in action on the Ice world Hey, Sarge those 'nids are getting close.
Khorne beserkers escape their destroyed Rhino A squad of Khorne beserkers emaerge dazed from their wrecked Rhino whilst in the background, Black Templars prepare to attack.
Gary March's superb Slaneesh army This is a superb army, painted by Gary Marsh, winner of the Best Painter Senior army trophy. Each vehicle has been sculpted to make it unique (and takes about 3 months each). Gary is a very good player and if you play on the tournament circuit in the UK you can expect him to be coming your way, be very very afraid.
Most Sporting Player Award

Rob Kancidrowski (Most Sporting Player) receives his trophy and prize from Justin Taylor (on right).

We would have loved to provide pictures of the other winners but the camera batteries ran out, oh well there is always next year.
