In early 2002, Wan Ting, Jean, Dorothy, Kai Qin, Yan Ling, Rachel, Kimberley & Rae Wen were in Secondary 2E4.
Dorothy was christened "Dot Roti Prata" (Dotroti, see?) by Jean, during recess as they walked down the stairs outside the library.
She was hopping mad when Jean called her that again over the 'phone that afternoon, nearly hit the roof she did; and she threatened to flatten Jean.
A pancake is flat, Jean was about to be flattened - she was a Pancake. With a capital "P", mind you.
Kai Qin called Jean "Pennycake" in class one day and the name stuck.

In quick succession, Kai Qin became Chye Sim/Veggie; Yan Ling became Yam; Rachel was already Rachee Lychee. Kimberley was Cranberry and Rae Wen became Carrot because her favourite colours were orange, blue & white (the colour of the New York Knicks logo) and a Carrot in an IJ uniform is, well, orange, blue and white.
The last two names are no longer in use.

Zee Foodstuff was born.

Alycia was Apple for awhile, but the moniker swiftly became disused.

Alicia chose to be Starfruit when Jean asked her if she'd like to be a Foodstuff, one day after school in the canteen, while Jean was doing Maths homework. [mid-2002]

Han Ying selected the name Sushi when she was asked too, because that's her favourite food. [end 2002] Actually, she was a Satay at first.

Joyce wanted to be a Blueberry and Pei Ying decided on the title Vanilla Cheesecake.

That's the story of Zee Foodstuff.

In addition, Zee Foodstuff have some foodie family members.

Rae Wen's sister Rae Hui was a Purple Monkey Carrot for awhile.

Veggie's sister Kai Ling is Kai Lan.

Pennycake has a Papaya for a Papa, a Mumalade/Mumalady for a Mum, and a Bluebewy for a Brother, and at this point I should inform you that she is also known as Strawbewy.
