Mustang Dual Reservoir Master Cylinder
My truck is different than most you will see on the show circuit. I wanted to make it a little more user friendly and drivable, without turning it into a complete custom chassis with an old body on top.
The old single-reservoir master cylinder on these trucks is simply not safe. Therefore, I wanted to use a modern dual-reservoir cylinder, but yet keep it simple.
The best answer is to use a kit from Sacramento Vintage Ford to adapt a 1967 to 1972 mustang dual-reservoir master cylinder to your stock location. You will use your stock pedal and push rod, and everything installs with no cutting or welding.
First: You need to obtain a master cylinder. There are several versions available for the indicated years. You have to take the system you have into account, I have front disc and rear drums, so I got the Mustang unit that matched my configuration. The master cylinder will have a 1 inch bore, allowing you to use it as a non-power unit!!! (simple)
You will also need the adapter from SVF. I think this set me back about $40, worth the trouble of not having to make it myself. Below is a picture of both units:
All the hardware needed comes with the kit from SVF, the whole thing installed in about 15 minutes with no snags. Below is a horrible picture of the completed assembly, if you have any questions, send me an email.
