Taiji's Glenn Dragon Area
Welcome to Taiji's Glenn Dragon area!

Taiji wants to introduce you to the egg which has been sent up to the ship, it is here...

Right now, she knows nothing about the sex, type or color of the dragon within, and is even somewhat unsure of which parents have sired it! There were two clutches there at the time, and only this egg called out to the green little girl.

It turns out to be from
Sparks and Marad's clutch, now that it's all settled in!

She hopes very much that with love and tender attention, she will be able to hatch and care for the dragon within.
He's grown! He's hatched! See below!

With all the beautiful plants that Taiji takes care of around the egg, there are also a lot of little happy bugs flying about. They don't bother Taiji, she loves to watch their irridescent wings shimmering in the starlight.
As the egg in Taiji's Glenn area began to harden and solidify, the outside of it turned a steady, beautiful gold!

Taiji invited several of the inhabitants to view her newfound beauty, and even Wisdom the dragon came to admire it.

"It is beautiful," Viridia commented. "Do you think... It will be a special dragon which comes from it? You deserve it, Taiji. All the work you've put into this chamber is beyond what I'd ever imagined!" Viridia looked around at all the greenery and beautiful insects gathered from hundreds of worlds. "I think that I shall like to see who hatches from this egg!"

"And I," Taiji smiled, her girl-like face bright with happiness.
"Did it ever strike you as ironic that one of the parents of his clutch was named Marad?" Taiji asked Viridia as she helped clean off the little golden dragonet.

Viridia nodded deeply. "I thought I recognized the name... Marad... He was a clever boy."

"He was Mirage's father!" Taiji scrubbed at an itch that the dragon indicated with a warble of noise. "Clever?"

Viridia laughed.
"So what is this little boy's name, if Marad and Sparks are his parents?" Viridia asked, and handed Taiji a small bowl of food for the hatchling.

The green girl sat on her rump and looked at him. The golden scales were so pretty, he glimmered every moment that he moved, and even when he slept -- which was of course quite a lot of the time -- he seemed to flow with color.

"Well, look at him. He's like molten gold..." Taiji looked confused. "But that sounds too much like a beer beverage..." Viridia and she laughed, and the little golden hatchling grumbled loudly, it seemed they were keeping him from sleep.

"Sorry, dearest..." Taiji said, stroking his beautiful snout. "Well, you remember on Zekira, in the deserts of Kiran, where the Three Cities came together?"

"The Ref desert, yes. With dunes that glimmered brightly in the sun."

Taiji looked up with pleasure,
"Ref's Glimmer," she announced, "That's his name. Some day we'll find a way to show him why he's named that..."
Ref's Glimmer explored every nook of his territory. When Shuy's blue dragon came along, however, he bolted for Taiji and Viridia's side.

"Little chicken," Taiji chided him. "You go show him who's boss!" She nudged the little golden hided dragonet and he crooned with worry.

"I do not want to! He makes too much noise!"

"I know you like it quiet, but you need to get some exersize! Go out and play!"

"But it is wet!"

Taiji rolled her eyes and shrugged. "I know it's wet, Ref. It's raining. It's just rain, see?"

"Gets noisy rain," Ref's Glimmer looked up at the cloudy dome's sky. Then, he very nearly vanished into himself, as the peal of lightning came down and shortly echoed around with a rock of thunder. "Not coming out EVER!"

Viridia grinned and left this little problem to her small green assistant. Taiji could always coax the golden dragonet into something new... later.
Ref did enjoy the rain, but not nearly as much as the other from his little twin clutch, Raindance. The golden dragon patiently watched the big light blue swoop through the air in the dome, almost like he was dodging the raindrops.

Or maybe making them. Ref's Glimmer stretched back, and let out a long, warm sigh.

"He is just showing off," Glimmer said. "I will show him later... When I get my wings ready. Then he'll have some competition in the air."

"I remember when you didn't like the thought of going out there," Taiji laughed.

"That was before I was big!"

"You aren't all big, yet!"
When Ref's Glimmer WAS big, not long after their little trip to the Glenn, he began looking at the beautiful clouds above the Glenn.

"He's up there. I will scare him down now." Ref said, and bolted into the air. He was a strong, quick flier, but he had gotten a bit more impulsive than Taiji liked. Perhaps it would calm down if they ever found a mate for him.

If... Perhaps they wouldn't. The Glenn was shutting down shop, and the dragons as well as their caretakers would be sad to see it go. But they would all be able to come and visit each other anyway.

When Taiji looked up again, she saw a huge bolt of gold streak through the low clouds and then burst out in a bright sun-colored flame. Then abruptly, a downpour of rain struck his golden hide and he came scampering down through the sky, again.

"Still don't like getting wet, I see?" Taiji said, in her best I-told-you-so voice.

Ref's Glimmer only grumbled.
