1.i
Rolling Bones
This mini-boss will roll a
spiked log at you – simply jump over it to avoid. Just keep hitting him with your sword and he’ll soon die.
1.ii
Moldorm
The first boss
can be quite hard really, mainly because of the holes surrounding the edges of
the screen. The quickest way to kill it
is by using spin attacks, but these are more likely to knock you down the hole. Equip the Roc’s Feather and the Sword for
this battle. Charge up your sword and
try and keep it facing away from Moldorm.
Release the attack to hit the end of its tail. Moldorm will now start to rush around like crazy, but don’t use
your shield, it’ll knock you down the pit!
Instead jump around, trying to keep out of Moldorm’s path. You can try and hit its tail quickly while
its rushing around, or wait for it to calm down and try for another spin
attack.
Moblin King
(in the Moblins’ Hideout)
He’ll throw arrows at you that you can dodge by jumping or moving up and down. Charge your sword facing left or right, so that it’s not facing the boss. When he charges at you move out of the way and he’ll crash into the wall, which will stun him. Now release your spin attack and hack away at him until he gets back up. Repeat.
2.i Hinox
He throws bombs at you, and will charge at you attempting to pick you up and hurl you across the room. Dodge the bombs and jump away when he charges at you to avoid getting hurt. Keep hitting him with your sword until he dies.
2.ii Genie
Charge your sword up and stand on the very right of the room. The Genie will move a bit to the left, then to the right and start throwing fireballs. Start walking around the edge of the room just as he’s about to start throwing the fireballs. When he finishes his attack he will go back into his bottle and start hopping towards you. Release a spin attack to stun him. Pick up the bottle with the Power Bracelet and throw it against the wall. After three times the bottle will break. Hit him with a spin attack. He will now spin around as two silhouettes and suddenly appear and throw a fireball. Charge your sword and use Roc’s Feather to jump when he appears, then release the attack.
3.i Dodongo
Snakes
Lay bombs right in front of them so they’ll swallow them. If they’re in a corner or against a wall you can throw bombs at them. Time your throws and you kill them easily. Three (swallowed) bombs each and they’re dead.
3.ii Slime
Eyes
At the start of the battle use the Pegasus Boots to crash into the wall. This will cause the boss to fall onto the floor. Hit him repeatedly in the middle of his eye, and when it separates widely do a sword dash attack (use Pegasus Boots while sword is equipped). This will split in the eye in two. Hit an eye with a spin attack, and charge another one quickly. It will jump up to the ceiling. Jump just before it lands (so you don’t get stunned) and release the attack. When that eye dies repeat the process with the other one.
Lanmola (in
Yarna Desert)
It leaps from the ground. Hit it with your sword and use the Roc’s Feather to stop yourself being dragged into the hole in the middle.
4.i Cue Ball
Go in the top left corner of the room and face right. Charge your sword and hold your shield. Release the attack just before it touches you. Keep holding the shield and whacking the button for your sword and you’ll kill it easily.
4.ii Angler
Fish
Charge your sword and go to the bottom right of the screen, so that if the Angler Fish was in front of you would be right next to his face. Release the attack when he comes in range, and keep hacking at it with the sword. When it goes out of reach charge another attack and repeat until it dies. Little Angler Fish swim across the screen from time to time, but you can easily dodge them or kill them. When the boss charges at the wall he will make rocks fall down from the ceiling. If you need to dodge something quickly then use the Roc’s Feather to swim over it quickly.
5.i Gohmas
There are two
of these spiders, and they keep moving left and right. Stay in front of the first one and the
second one won’t attack you yet. Always
hold your shield and have your Hookshot equipped. The Gohma will sometimes charge down at you, but because you’re
holding your shield you can block that attack.
The Gohma will open its eye to shoot a fireball at you – this when you
need to attack. Walk left and right
keeping up with it, so you can quickly fire your Hookshot as soon as it opens its
eye. When the first one dies do the
same with the second one. I think you
can make the Gohmas open their eyes by playing the Ballad of the Windfish.
5.ii Slime Eel
This boss is annoying. You need to use the Hookshot when it appears out of one of the four holes, then keep chopping quickly at the flashing heart part. The tail stretching out from the hole moves around about half circle, then shakes a little bit before moving on again. I recommend staying on one side of the room, staying in the corner when the tail comes around. Sometimes when you hook it it’ll send out a dummy eel which will explode after a short while.
Armos Knight
(Southern Face Shrine)
This hops around, and when it jumps and slams the ground it paralyses you – so jump before it lands!! Use your bow to hurt him. If you run out of arrows then hit him with spin attacks.
6.i Smasher
He picks up a ball and throws it at you. Pick up the ball and throw it back at it him! After a few hits he’ll die.
6.ii Facade
The easiest
boss in the game!! Stay by where you came
in and throw a bomb at the face. When
it disappears the floor tiles around the edges and the four pots will fly at
you. Throw another bomb at the face
when it reappears, and hit the tiles with your sword. After this random holes will appear then disappear around the
room, but if you stay where you are you won’t fall down any. Keep throwing bombs at the face whenever it
appears until it dies.
7.i Grim
Creeper
He summons six bats to come and attack you. You have to kill them all in a row, without missing any, or six more will appear.
7.ii Evil
Eagle
Stand on the middle of the tower for this battle and face upwards, constantly holding your shield. If you have the level 2 sword and full health you can shoot lasers at it when it flies above you. Otherwise use the Hookshot (or Magic Rod if you’ve got it first) to shoot it. When flies very close above you or right at you then slash with your sword. Defend with the Mirror Shield if it dives at you. If it appear in the top right or left corner at the screen keep holding your shield and move towards it – this will defend you against its feather and stop you from being blown off by the wind.
Turtle Rock
(Outside Turtle Rock)
Play the Frog’s Song of Soul to awaken the guardian. Charge up spin attacks and hit the head. Use the Roc’s Feather or shield to avoid his head lunges.
8.i Blaino
Be careful fighting him!! He can stun you with a punch, and if he hits you with a charged punch he’ll knock you back to the beginning of the level! Charge sword spins away from him, then jump and release them near him.
8.ii Hothead
Equip the Roc’s Feather and the Magic Rod. The boss keeps jumping in and out of the lava. When it does this four fireballs fly out. Jump over them with the Roc’s Feather. Just keep whacking the button to fire the Magic Rod. After you’ve hit him a few times bits will fall off, and a weird looking creature will be revealed. Keep firing the Magic Rod and he’ll soon die.
9. The Colour
Dungeon Bosses (DX version)
i) Giant Buzz
Blob
This is a giant electric blob thing. Sprinkle it with Magic Powder to turn it into a (non-electric) blob, then keep hitting it with your sword.
ii) Stone Hinox
This is a more powerful version of the mini-boss from Bottle Grotto. When it jumps you’ll get stunned (so use the Roc’s Feather to dodge this) and stones will fall from the ceiling. Keep hitting him your sword until he dies.
iii) Turtalfos
It can shoot
beams and sometimes makes Stalfos appear.
Keep hitting it constantly and quickly with your sword to kill it, or it
can recover it’s health (I think). It
changes colours as you hit it. Blue
means it has full health, yellow’s half way and red means it’s in danger. Get it into a corner or use jump slashes to
kill it easily.
10. The Nightmares
i) Shadow Gel
There is a way to kill this with your sword, but it takes ages because you have to hit it at a certain time. The blob will hop towards you. Sprinkle Magic Powder on it. When it disappears stay in the centre so you won’t get it when it reappears. Repeat the process to beat it, and it’ll change into…
ii) Shadow Agahnim
It moves around the screen, then stops and charges an energy ball. Stand opposite it and charge your sword. If it releases a ball shaped blast then knock it back at him with your sword. If it’s shaped like a spinning X then dodge the shot – this will split into a four-direction blast. Repeat the process to beat it, and it’ll change into…
iii) Shadow Moldorm
Like the very first boss, but without holes around the room. You need to hit it’s tail with your sword. When you do though it will speed up, so go into a corner and defend with your shield till it slows down. Repeat the process to beat it, and it’ll change into…
iv) Shadow Ganon
You need to hit him with spin attacks. Charge your sword, and when he makes fire bats appear keep moving back and forth across the screen. Jump over and hit him whenever you can. His other attack is to throw his axe across the room, then run over and collect it. When he does this jump over the axe and hit him with an attack. Repeat the process to beat it, and it’ll change into…
v) Shadow Gloworm
This little thing will follow you around if you’re not quick, so kill it as soon as it changes. All you need to do is hit it once with the Magic Rod. Finally it will change into…
vi) Deathl
This final incarnation can be very hard or amazingly easy. If you feel you want a challenge to earn your ending, you’ll need to hit it in the eye with arrows many, many times. You may need the arrows upgrade to do it this way. Use the feather to jump over its swinging arms, then attack when it opens its eye. If you want to do it the easy way, you must have the boomerang. All you need to do is hit it once in the very centre of its eye with the boomerang to defeat the Nightmares.
