1. Mabe Village – Go left of BowWow’s house, then cut down the bushes and jump off the ledge to enter the well. It’s right next to you!

2. Mabe Village – Play the fishing game (north of BowWow’s house) and catch the lunker on the right side of the screen.

3. In the Mysterious Forest, it’s surrounded by pits - jump over with the Roc’s Feather. (One screen left and two screens up from the witch’s house.)

4. In the cave in the Mysterious Forest (that you went through to get the Magic Mushroom), you need to lift the skulls with the Power Bracelet.

5. Ukuku Prairie – Shortly before the screen where Tarin asks to borrow your stick to get some honey, there is a screen filled with monster-inhabited holes with a cave you can bomb open. Inside you need to use your Pegasus Boots to break the crystal objects. Go up one screen and bomb the right-hand wall near the bottom of the screen – poke around with your sword if you can’t find it. Go through to find the piece of heart.

6. Yarna Desert – Fall down the hole in the screen where you beat the sandworm for the Angler Key. Bomb the north wall and go through.

7. Tal Tal Heights - To the right of the entrance to Level 4, go through the cave. (You also end up here if you fall down a hole in the mountains on the way to Eagle’s Tower.) Dive around the centre to find the heart piece.

8. Kanalet Castle – Swim around the moat to the bottom left hand screen. Dive around the bottom to find it.

9. Graveyard – Enter the Graveyard (by the witch’s house) and push the bottom right gravestone. Go down the staircase. Bomb the cracked stone, then either use the Pegasus Boots and the Roc’s Feather or the Hookshot to get across.

10. Animal Village – Outside the fence on the upper right-hand side of the Animal Village is a cave you can blow open with a bomb. Go in. Jump north across the gap and blow up the wall. Go through the passage, then throw a bomb over the ledge to blow up the cracked stone. Go back to where you came in, then go left and up. Use the Hookshot to get across the gap and pick up the piece of heart.

11. Tal Tal Heights – On the very top left screen of the world map (you get here after saving Marin from the broken bridge by using the Hookshot) is a bush. Slash it and enter the stairs. In this room, bomb open the wall at the southernmost point in the room. Go in.

12. Tal Tal Mountains - At one point during your journey through Turtle Rock you go outside the dungeon (to reach the high ledge in the room with the Dodongo Snakes). The piece of heart is on the screen where you come out, to the left of the screen with the fourth warp point.
