1. Woodfall Temple: Masked Jungle Warrior – Odolwa

The first boss can be surprisingly hard – unless you rush in quick… as soon as the battle starts, run over to him and do a quick spin (rotate stick once and press B) at his legs. This will cause him to stumble for a second, preventing him from attacking, and giving you enough time to do another quick spin. The Kokiri Sword is very short, however, and this is hard to do without being flung across the room, so shoot an arrow at him to stun him first. Keep doing this until he dies. If he manages to escape or you want to battle him the hard way, then you’ll have to dodge his various attacks, while constantly trying to hit his legs. His most common attack is to simply lunge for you quickly with his sword – hold your shield and side jump away. His most annoying attack is to summon a swarm of evil moths – turn into a Deku Scrub and hide in the flower in the centre of the room. Sometimes he will create a circle of fire around you, trapping you for a while, while also lunging at you – don’t be a Deku ‘cos if you touch the fire you’ll have to start the battle again!! Just try and dodge him, being careful to not touch the fire.
2. Snowhead Temple: Mechanical Masked Monster - Goht

This can sometimes be the longest battle of the game. You have to chase after him as Goron Link, and touch him with the spikes that emerge from your back. To play things safe (I suggest you only do this if you have little health left as it takes ages this way) roll in the opposite direction he’s going and collide head on. Sometimes he’ll stop, turn around, and fire electricity at you – start rolling slightly to the left/right to avoid these. If you follow him, you can sometime trip him up by hitting his legs. If you do this, keep rolling straight at him to get many hits, as you’ll spike rolling right next to him J. You can tell he’s nearly finished when he starts dropping bombs behind him and rock spikes start falling from the ceiling. As you’re rolling around, hit the green pots to refill your magic meter.
3. Great Bay Temple: Gargantuan Masked Fish - Gyorg

Don’t stand too near the edge of the platform, or you’ll fall in the water when Gyorg shakes the platform. Stand on the platform and shoot arrows at Gyorg as normal Link or throw the boomerang fins as Zora Link. This will stun him. Now quickly swim over to him as Zora Link and hold the R button to hit him with the electric shield. As soon as he gets up swim away and climb onto the platform so you don’t get swallowed by Gyorg. At one point Gyorg will release lots of evil mini-fish into the water, so next time you go to attack him hold your electric shield while swimming to him. If you run out of magic there are green pots at the bottom of the corners of the room.
4. Stone Tower Temple – Twinmold
There
are two of these giant gravity-defying sand worm things. Luckily, you have the Giant’s Mask, so put
it on and watch Link grow! These
creatures don’t take that much to be killed, but can be tricky to hit – you
have to hit the ends of their tails.
Chop them when they fly past you, and also when they’re going
under-ground. When they start emerging
from the ground, hold a spin attack ready and release it when their tail ends
are about to come out. Wearing the
Giant’s Mask uses magic power, so it’s a good idea to have drunk some Chateau
Romani or have some blue or green potion handy. If the creatures fly into rocks and break them you can sometimes
get extra magic. Try and stay near the
centre platform area in this battle – stray too far and you’ll get lost, so
you’ll have to re-start the battle!

5.i Majora’s Mask
If you have gone through the long and arduous task of collecting all 20 non-transforming masks, and completing the 4 mini-dungeons on the Moon, then your efforts will be well rewarded – before fighting Majora’s Mask, you will be given the best mask in the game… the Fierce Deity’s Mask! Wearing this will transform Link into a really cool looking adult form, with the biggest and coolest sword ever! He can run around properly while shielding with R! And if you hold Z and use the sword he will shoot light energy (using a little bit of magic) which will stun the bosses! So if you have the Fierce Deity’s Mask, enabling you to become Oni Link, then you hardly need to do anything at all. Just target Majora’s Mask and shoot beams at it. When it brings the four boss masks into play, target each separately and shoot them. Then keep shooting Majora’s Mask till it changes. If you aren’t Oni Link, or want to work for your ending, then shoot Majora’s Mask from behind with an arrow, then run over and chop him till he changes.
5.ii Majora’s Incarnation
If you’re Oni-Link, just target the boss and shoot! It’ll soon change. If you aren’t Oni Link, shoot it with an arrow when it stands still briefly, then run over to it and chop it with your sword. It’ll soon change.
5.iii Majora’s Wrath
If Oni-Link, just shoot at it till it finally dies. Otherwise this fight will take a bit more work. Defend against the tentacles with your shield, and watch out for the spiky things it throws across the room. You have to get past the tentacles and get close to is body to be able to hit it with your sword. When you get to close though, it’ll jump across the room, so you have to be quick. Just keep hitting it with your sword till it dies. I’ll update this particular boss with some more strategies when I’ve played through the game again. If you can’t beat it then you should have got the Fierce Deity’s Mask – go back in time. And if you wanted the challenge of beating it the hard way, then why are you looking at this page?!
I’ll add the mini-bosses and some more strategies for
Majora’s Wrath soon.
