Bottle Guide

There are a total of four bottles you can collect in the game (unless you cheat! – see Tricks and Glitches section).  Bottles are really handy, as they can hold many useful items.

1.     The first bottle is found in Lon Lon Ranch, after you have woken Talon up by the Castle.  Talk to Talon and he’ll ask you if you want play a game.  Say yes and he’ll release the three ‘Super Cuccos’ into the group of regular Cuccos.  You’ll have a limited time to pick up the three ‘Super Cuccos’.  An easy way to win this game is to throw all the Cuccos (before talking to Talon) into the gap between the counter Talon’s sitting on and the stairs.

2.     The next bottle is held by the Cucco lady in Kakariko Village (her alternate personality in Termina - of Majora’s Mask - is known as Anju).  Talk to her to discover that – Oh no! – Her seven Cuccos have gone missing!  You have to find them all and put them back in their pen.  Their locations are listed below:

1.     Near the entrance of Kakariko Village

2.     Roll into a box near the house straight in front of the village entrance

3.     Near the well

4.     Use a Cucco to glide over to the fenced off platform by the House of Skulltula

5.     Use a Cucco to glide from the ledge near the windmill to the tall fence, and throw it just before you hit the fence to climb on to it.

6.     Same as previous

7.     Climb ladder in area where you found the two previous Cuccos and find it behind the windmill

3.     In Lake Hylia, dive near the place which links Lake Hylia to Zora’s Domain.  (Navi will usually point it out for you.)  You will pick up the bottle which has a letter from Princess Ruto inside.  Give the letter to King Zora and he’ll let you keep the bottle.

4.     This is the trickiest bottle to get.  You have to find and kill ten Big Poes while riding around on Epona in Hyrule Field, and get to them in time to bottle them, before they disappear.  Take them to the ghost catcher (in the place between the drawbridge and Hyrule Market) and sell them to him for 50 rupees, plus he’ll put 100 points on your card.  Once you have 1000 points on your card you’ll get your prize.  You’ll have to do a bit of searching to find some of these, as for a few of them you need to be riding in a certain tight area and in the right direction.  Below I’ve listed their whereabouts.

*  Keep going straight from the drawbridge of Hyrule Market, and it’ll appear near the sign.

*  Near the entrance of Lon Lon Ranch is a tree.  It’ll appear near there.

*  Behind Lon Lon Ranch is a V-shaped wall which like a big ‘Y’ on the map.  Go the corner of it and it’ll appear over the wall.

*  Ride on to the ledge overlooking the stairs leading to Kakariko Village and it’ll appear.

*  Coming out of Kokiri Forest, there is a grey boulder to the left.  It appears around there.

*  On the road which forks off towards Gerudo Valley and Lake Hylia, it usually appears while heading towards Lake Hylia.

*  On the same road as in the previous description, head in the opposite direction to Lake Hylia, and take the second left into the area next to the wall near the Gerudo Valley entrance.  It’ll appear while riding near the tree.

*  There is a grove of trees in the South-East area of Hyrule Field.  The Big Poe will appear near a brown boulder here.

*  In the same grove, try riding for a bit in the direction of Lake Hylia.  It’s around there somewhere!

*  There is another grove of trees to the West of Hyrule Market, where a river flows out from a waterfall coming from the Castle.  It’ll either appear near the bushes while you’re riding towards the river, or across the river when you’re riding alongside it in the direction of the Castle.
