The Sheikah throughout the years have always been refered to as 'The Ancient Ones', 'Defenders of the Sacred Realm', or 'The Children of the Gods'. But despite these titles, the Sheikah have yet to reveal their mysterious past to the inhabitants of Hyrule. No one even quite remembers when the Sheikah took their place among the people of Hyrule. What is known is that the Sheikah once lived in the small community of Kakariko Village, not allowing anyone who did not identify themselves as a Sheikah to trespass.

The Sheikah generally worked as guardians for the Royal Family and sought to keep order within the land of Hyrule. It was apparent that they carried no judgements towards any character, be they evil or good. They didn't care to step in when multiple races were being massacred by another due to war or natural causes, since it wasn't their purpose to do so unless the Royal Family or fellow Sheikah were involved. Thus, they remained stoic and neutral to those around them.

It wasn't until recently that the entire Sheikah race suddenly disappeared without a trace, immediatly deserting Kakariko Village. No one knows whether they died out, were massacred, or simply left for whatever reasons. But others do know that a small handful are in hiding from the public with the exception of Impa. One rumor has it that the same temple the Sheikah tended turned against them, and destroyed the entire community. Another has it that Bongo Bongo, plague of Hyrule, murdered the Sheikah for whatever purpose remains to be seen. But fact remains - The Sheikah have disappeared, and very few have returned.

Very few artifacts exist that hint of the Sheikah's past, those being Masks of Truth, Gossip Stones, and the infamous Lens of Truth. The ancient Shadow Temple still remains standing, but without entrance for free dwelling. It seems that Sheikah History will forever be hidden, just like the people themselves.

- Lifestyle -

The Sheikah lifestyle is incredibly stoic and very dark. They have an ability to see with eyes of the truth, which pushed their limitations over the boundaries as far as the 'sixth sense' goes. They are able to detect that in which others are inable to see, since their senses are sharp and practiced. Due to their talent of facing reality, they were normally anti-social and disliked being around people other than themselves. It is thought they are able to speak with the dead and animals due to their sharp senses, but there aren't many Sheikah who are willing to confirm this rumor. Although Sheikah do stray from the company of others, they are very duty-bound and are incredibly loyal servants to the Royal Family for whatever reason only they know.

- Appearance -

The Sheikah are built like Hylians only a bit more sculpted. Many tend to hide themselves under heavy cloaks and bandage, others carry leather and armor. If you are able to see their faces, their eyes are normally designed with traditional paints, bearing triangles or circles. Some even draw on their eyelids, bearing symbol of their mark - The Eye of Truth. Sheikahs all inherit odd-colored eyes, be they Purple, Silver, or any uncommon iris-shade. The most common eye-color among Sheikah is Maroon.

- Combat -

Sheikah carry any variety of weapons, but they always keep a sack of Deku Nuts close by for quick escape if need be.

- Hylian Kingdom -

The Hylian Kingdom is the primary domain that is ruled over by the Princess Zelda. This domain includes the castle and market areas along with the nearby Kakariko Village. Hylians and the Sheikah are the primary subjects of the kind Princess along with her command of the the Hyrule Guard.
