Summon Monsters

Summon Monsters are summoned during battle with the Summon command in the battle menu.  This command is added by equipping Red (Summon) Materia.  For more about Materia, click here.

Choco/Mo

When you first go to the Chocobo Ranch, talk to the Chocobo closest to you, and say "Wark".  The Chocobo will reward you with the Choco/Mog Materia.  Choco/Mog's attack is Deathblow, an attack that deals non-elemental damage, and sometimes paralyzes the enemy/enemies

Shiva

When you go to Junon, after saving Priscilla from the Bottomswell monster on the beach, go to her house and talk to her.  She will give you the Shiva Materia.  Shiva's attack is Diamond Dust, an attack which inflicts ice elemental damage

Ifrit

Odin

After the battle with Jenova·BIRTH on the Cargo Ship, there will be some red Materia left lying around.  Pick it up, it is the Ifrit Materia.  Ifrit's attack is Hellfire which causes fire elemental damage to all enemies

Enter the Nilbelheim Mansion and go up the stairs, then turn to the left.  There is a room with a safe in it.  Open the safe by inputting the combination: 36, 10, 59, 97.  While entering the combination do not skip past the numbers you are going to enter.  When you open the safe, you will be attacked by Lost Number.  For tips on how to kill this boss click here.  After killing this monster, examine the safe for items.  There is also a Basement Key to be found.

Ramuh

The Ramuh Materia is found inside the open locker in the jockeys' room at the Gold Saucer.  Cloud will go to the jockeys' room after Barrett meets up with Dyne, you cannot go there the first time you go to the Gold Saucer.  Ramuh's attack is Judgement Bolt, which causes lightning elemental damage to all enemies

Bahamut

Titan

The Bahamut Materia is received after the battle with the Red Dragon in the Temple of the Ancients.

The Titan Materia is found in the reactor in the forest at Gongaga Area.  Search the right side of the reactor.  When Cloud contemplates whether or not to pick up the shiny object, tell him to pick it up and you will receive the Titan Materia.  Titan's attack is "Anger of the Land" and it causes earth elemental damage to all enemies.
