~~~ Fun in Mirai-Land: Part 2 ~~~
One day, over Whatevertheheckitsnameis Town...
"So, we have to get the groceries..."
"What, do you want to go back?"
"Yes."
"After what he SAID?"
At this point, 17 got the psychotic look in his eye that always comes before he does something idiotic, violent, or just plain disturbing. "You know, he probably did it already. Multiple times."
18 shuddered at the mental image. "You almost sound as if you enjoy the idea, 17..."
"Hey, can I help it if my body is irresistible?"
"...to old men?"
"Hey, whatever works..."
"...Disgusting."
"Anyway, how come I have to wear these clothes? They're not... not..."
"Hideous?"
"...not me."
"That's the point 17. You show up wearing black and your ugly bandana, and everyone will run in fear."
"So?"
"Do you want to carry our bags out?"
"...."
"That's what I thought."
And with that, the jinzoningen twins headed down towards Whatevertheheckitsnameis Town's shopping center, wearing clothes that were as much unlike their usuals as possible. It worked well enough. They walked in through the front doors without anyone noticing their flight, and had no unusual reactions.
A few minutes later, 18 was walking down the aisle with 17 following behind, looking very, very bored. "Hey, 18..."
"Yes?"
"I'm bored. How about I go find something else while you do this?"
"Offering to help, 17? I'm going to regret this, but remember, no killing and..."
"Okay, see you later then." 17 cut her off in the middle of the sentence and walked off down the aisle. Of course, when he said "something else," he meant "something else to do." But she didn't need to know that, now did she? A few minutes of wandering around, and the elevator muzak started grinding his nerves. If he had nerves. He never thought about it much. That's when he noticed the door labelled "Employees Only" and came out of his thoughts. A quick look around to make sure nobody was watching (fewer witnesses means more time before his sister notices) and he went inside.
"Hmm? What's a stereo system doing back here...?" That was just before his second manic grin of the day... Well, at least since he had started keeping count out of boredom.
In the aisles, 18 paused for a moment. Something had changed, but she wasn't sure what. Ah, that was it. "Good. They turned off that elevator crap..." Then, she reached down for the next list when she almost deafened by the noise.
"TRANSMISSION THIRD WORLD WAR THIRD ROUND - A DECADE OF THE WEAPON OF SOUND ABOVE GROUND - NO SHELTER IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SHADE - I LICK SHOTS AT THE BRUTAL CHARADE--"
"Seventeen..." she growled, crushing the can in her hand, then headed for the employees-only areas...
At the door, a group of people wearing the shopping center uniforms were struggling with said door. Eighteen walked up to them and as calmly as possible, considering her brother's behavior and having to yell over the music, asked, "WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?"
The nearest person, some fat old guy who looked like he might be the manager, turned around to answer. "WE DON'T KNOW HOW THEY DID IT, BUT SOMEONE GOT IN HER AND CHANGED THE SETTING ON THE RADIO AROUND", pausing for a breath (yelling is strenuous for fat old guys), he continued, "THEN THEY MANAGED TO GET OUT AND SLAM THE DOOR HARD ENOUGH TO SEND IT THROUGH THE FRAME, SO NOW WE CAN'T GET IN."
"I MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP--"
But at that point 18 was cut off as they were all pelted with tomatoes. Seconds later, a shopping cart full of tomatoes flew past, with a black-haired teenager, laughing maniacally, riding in the front. A few moments after that, 17 realized he had just ridden past his sister. And she had several tomatoes splatted into her hair.
"Oops, " he thought. "Guess I'll just have to make this as fun as possible until she catches up."
[to be finished sometime when I get bored]
