Raid on Police Storage Foiled

[CU] Last night, an attempted raid on the police storage facility where confiscated items are kept was foiled by another masked hero. Apparently after the usual trio of vigilantes failed to respond to the attack, another adventurer came onto the scene.

One eyewitness, who gave only "Monk" as his name, described the scene: "So check this out, I'm just walking back to my house, when all the sudden, there's this explosion or something, and I'm just like, what? Then these guys run out of the police station."

Another witness to the scene, who will be identified only as "Richard" to protect his identity, described the chaotic incident. "It was pretty nuts. I thought I'd have to jump in and handle this myself, when some crazy comes roaring up in this huge black pickup."

According to witness accounts, a figure dressed entirely in black aside from a large "MrDr" on his chest, and holding a coffee cup, exited the vehicle and reached into the bed to the truck to remove some kind of weapon.

"He yelled some sort of warning or battlecry. I don't remember whta it was, but it was some long word I've never heard before," added Richard. "I just know he called himself Mister Doctor."

The weapon the man removed apparently fired some sort of gas canisters at high speed, and the entire area was soon blanketed in thick smoke. Witnesses say that as the smoke cleared, they heard an engine roar, and were just in time to see the pickup vanish into the night.

"It was wild, man," continued Monk. "All the sudden he's gone and all these guys, who looked like they were gonna take some names a few minutes ago? They're all tied up on the ground unconscious."

Police arrived on the scene only minutes later, and took the criminals into custody. A report released soon after indicates that these men were minions of the Economist, sent there to retrieve his card-creating ray, which had been captured during last week's failed back robbery. The weapon, through processes unknown to modern science, can capture anything and trap it in a single playing card.
