5FM/SONY UNEARTHED COMPILATION

		In a new initiative to promote local bands, 5fm and Sony have combined forces to produce a compilation album featuring 15 unsigned bands. Over 100 bands were evaluated by a panel from Sony and 5fm; Zen Arcade was selected. The band spent Sunday 22 April at RP Studios, recording a "radio version" of Crazy Over You for inclusion on the CD. The new version is slightly shorter and a little more uptempo, with a harder edge than the wistful original. New string parts were recorded by the original string section - Jacqui Finlay on cello and Lizzy Rennie (currently playing with Watershed) on viola, who also scored the parts. The CD will be distributed exclusively through Musica's national chain. Musica and 5fm have both pledged their support for the album, in the form of airplay, interviews and live concerts - keep your ears and eyes open!

		ZEN ARCADE LIVE ON AIR - The Unearthed III release date is officially confirmed for Monday 18 June. The band will be playing live at a special launch function, broadcast live from M3 Studio, SABC Radio Park. This comes hot on the heels of the Crazy Over You single release, which has been enjoying extensive airplay daily since Sunday 3 June. Two other bands who appear on the compilation CD, Tweak and Gauge, will also be performing.
