Chapter 1: Part 3

Its been two days since the imperial soldier known as Zen Lang was brought into their home, and since his arrival, Misha Cadone has been glancing at the man from a distance. She finds herself too afraid to come near him, yet strangely, she feels a bit concerned for his condition. Whenever no one is looking, she would open the door to Zen Lang's room just barely for her to catch a glimpse of the mysterious man.

Two days ago, the man was covered in blood, hardly alive, but thanks to her sister's medical skills, he is recovering quite well. His face looks somewhat peaceful, she thought, not as the stories describes him. Although she wants to come closer to him, her impression of imperial soldiers told her to do otherwise.

Misha Cadone didn't always despise imperial soldiers. In fact, when she was young, she finds herself attracted to them. Her father was once an imperial soldier, and her lover was an imperial soldier named Riccart Forrester. But her lover left her when she was pregnant. Now she is the sole parent of their child named Silou Fredrick.

When her mother was executed for the crime of rebellion, her Clan was labeled as "Damos", meaning their family and their relatives are ex-communicated from the empire, and they are not governed by the laws anymore. This means that imperial soldiers can do whatever they want with them. The soldiers can take away their possessions, rape them, kill them, make them slaves and the empire would not care.

She was almost raped by Imperial soldiers led by her ex-lover, but was rescued by her father and neighbors. Her family came into hiding in the forest of Alamoren, Michzen, and along with their neighbors, friends and relatives, established a community in the forest and formed a rebel group named "Forest Wolves"

"Hey Sis, whatcha doin?"

Surprised, Misha slammed the door so hard that some of the nearby vases fell off their pedestals. It was her sister, Kristeena.

"N-nothin'..."

Giggling, Kristeena asked Misha in a playful tone, almost teasing.
"So how is he?"

Misha's face turned red in embarassment
"How'd I supposed to know? you're the medicine woman"

Before Misha could react, Kristeena took her sister's hand and put a small pouch on it.

"There's ointment and medicine here, be sure to apply it to his wounds every 4 hours, starting now, ok?"

With that said, Kristeena turned away, rushed to the front door, stopped and turned to Misha

"I have to go to Marocove, there was a mining accident and I'm needed there. Buh-bye! Don't forget the medicine, his life depends on it! See ya!"

Misha did not have the chance to react as she watched her sister leave. She stood there motionless with a shocked expression on her face. She stared at the pouch that her sister gave her.

"That girl!… What am I supposed to do??."

She looked at the door to Zen Lang's room nervously. She told herself that she has to do it, because this stranger's life depended on it. Gathering all her courage, she slowly walked to the door, with each step, her heart beats faster.

"I'll get you for this, Sis!"

Her hands were trembling as she opens the door. She realized it is not because of fear, but because of excitement. Now she has a reason to get near him, she thought.

"Hey, I need to apply this to your wounds…"

She smiled as she entered the room, only to find that the room was empty. The window was open, and the curtains were flowing freely with the wind

"He's…. gone???"
