Hi and welcome to my page.... who am I you ask? I can sum up my existence in two words - bluegrass and teaching! Check out my other page, Totally Bluegrass! Your one-stop shopping of sorts for bluegrass links.
I teach high school Business and English in alternative high school. I am also the School-to-Career Coordinator for my district.
In my spare time I play the upright bass and bluegrass rhythm guitar. Getting pretty good at the guitar... friend and rippin' guitar player Andrew Falco was my guitar teacher but now he's in Nashville hittin' the big time with Alecia Nugent - I'm so incredibly happy for him - success couldn't have happened to a nicer person! AND lucky me, occasionally I can still get a lesson or two :-)
The bass will always be my first love. I also sing some and write songs too. If you're on LI and lookin to pick you could try the monthly bluegrass jam here on Long Island but New York City jams are so much better.... email me for info if you want. We get together regularly to pick at my house too, so email me for info, as well as info about an upcoming east end jam.
Besides making music, I like going to bluegrass festivals. Check out the links to some of my favorites below. I used to do the website for Back Roads, my favorite local bluegrass band. I like East Bound Freight Train too. Check out my other favorite bluegrass bands below. I love to travel (California and Florida every year! and Colorado when I can... I love my Leftover Salmon boys... and touring where my favorite bands happen to be bring me - all over the country at times), canoe, hike, camp, rock climb, kayak. I like to read and design webpages. Working is also a favorite "hobby" of mine. I love it and the people I teach with.... who WOULDN'T love goin' to work with gorgeous friends like this? Me and Billy.
