Clear plastic with silver sticker around buttons. Slightly deviated from average controller design with the two buttons labeled as "*" near the square and X buttons. The bulk of the changed design is in the middle of the controller: below the start and select buttons is a big blue jobby that you press to program sequences into one button.
Problems
The silver sticker was not attached very well. It kept coming up in places. It made me want to just rip the thing off. I returned this controller twice. The first time was because the L1 button would stick and not pop out properly. The L1 button didn't work unless you hit it just right on my second controller. In both instances the L1 button was defective, so watch for it if you purchase this control.
