Killing is My Business...
And Business is Good !
Mustaine turned his efforts to Megadeth inviting his neighbor David Ellefson, drummer Lee Rash, and Slayer guitar player Kerry King. After signing a contract with Combat Records, Chris Poland replaced Kerry King, and drummer Lee Rash was replaced by Gar Samuelson. This line-up finally began recording. As if assembling members of the band wasn't hard enough, a low budget during the recordings brought about the firing of their producer.
Though the band finished the record themselves, resulting in bad production and sound, you shouldn't be daunted by the glaring problems the band had to endure. From a venture down below, to the thrashery of "Rattlehead," the band unleashes a chained-to-the-wall wailing brawl throughout the entire album. A prevailing guitar assault bombards the listener, that crumbles into the cracks of fast-paced solos and screams. This is a thrash track extreme that won't let you sit by the sidelines, waiting for something to happen. Though the quality may not be "up-to-specs," the effort should give Megadeth the title of the "Chosen Ones" by speed metal enthusiasts.
More recently, the cover song "These Boots..." was considered "too mean" by the original creator. She was going to take the band to court, but the band felt it'd be easier to just remove the song from the album. If you ever heard the original, I'm sure you'll applaud the band's faster-paced tempos and expression of feeling given to their version.
