Having a Book of Shadows (BOS) is important for any Witch. It is a journal---a sacred place to record basic information from your studies, your personal progress (hits and misses of Crafting), and anything you want to keep on your journey.

Whatever you use to make your BOS (and you will want to make your own to empower it with your energies), be sure that it is made for USE. Be creative, but practical (this is a good rule to keep in mind when Crafting too). You will want to carry this book into the woods, to Circle, everywhere!

I actually have two books---"THE" BOS which is meant to serve as a permanant record and source of information---this BOS is more ornate and less portable. The "lesser" BOS are more journal-like in nature. They accompany me to Circle, to walks in the woods, on vacation---they have paw prints in them...dirt smudges...scribbles and scratch-outs.
