![]() - In which Egg is captured by a dragon. - by Zenyth (8/2000) |
It happened one day that Egg, the pirate princess, while caught in a fit of giggles (as she was wont to do) was captured by a particularly grumpy dragon (whose name was Elrond). A predicament indeed, and when her giggles passed Egg became aware of this. Imagine her relief when two wizards happened by. The shorter one, Emme, was so engrossed in herself as usual that she failed to notice Egg's dilemma at all, so used was she to dragons and damsels in distress. However, the taller wizard, George, being more observant (and somewhat more silent) than his fellow, noticed Egg and soon had Emme's attention in the right place. It was a perplexing problem, and very soon the two wizards were deep in conversation over matters with regards to the methods and ethics of rescue. While the debate raged back and forth, along came a Jester (who happened to be a prince in disguise), called Chester. He was so amused by the scenario before him that he laughed out loud, and received a glare from the wizards, and a few choice words from Egg, who was not quite the innocent damsel usually seen in these stories. So Chester shut his mouth, but he pulled from his bag-of-tricks a sketchbook and quill, and set about recording the incident for posterity. He had just completed the delicate scaling of Elrond the dragon when the Lady Lina, astride her elegant white horse, came along, her warrior-protector Ange the Magnificent by her side. She was deeply distressed by the sight before her, and so Ange, being a caring warrior, decided that she must take matters into her own hands. Egg, by this stage, was completely distraught, especially as the two wizards seemed to have completely forgotten her and were deep in a debate over the issues of gender equality, especially in regards to the notion of dragon rescue, and the deeper meanings behind the division of bacon rashers. Ange rolled her eyes in despair, and while Lady Lina distracted the dragon with a great deal of flattery and kind words, she grabbed Elrond the dragon by his tail and swung him into a rock. Being an elderly dragon, Elrond promptly had a heart attack and died. Egg was finally free, and she thanked Ange and Lina profusely. Chester, having finished his drawing, decided that fighting dragons was hungry work, and believing that waste was a crime, lit a fire and cooked Elrond. And so the entire group enjoyed a hearty meal, congratulating Chester on both his cooking ability and his drawing as they ate. Emme and George, however, were so engrossed in their debate that they missed the feast entirely. When they finally agreed that rescue was fine as long as both genders took turns in cleaning the toilet, all the others were gone and all that remained of Elrond was a skeleton. The moral of this story? None really. Just felt like writing it.
