By the way, your local radioshaft also has what is called a bread board. They are a bit pricey, but they are reusable and very easy to use. They have a bunch of holes in them with spring loaded contacts, so you just push ICs and wires and LEDs and.... well you get the picture. There are 2 bus lines that run |
the length of the board on the top and bottom. Make one of them the + and one the GND. Then all of the little rows are tied to gether the other direction. |

Here is a quick sketch of the contact layout. Notice the gap in the middle. That is for ICs. The pins on the IC should go on both sides of the gap in the middle. |
