. Breakfast Club Series | Takaido Akemi, HanaOto Comics | |
This is a fun series... funny and refreshing... but it also has the emotional thingy going on.
at first I had my doubts... cos I've never tried anything from HanaOto Comics before....
but I'm glad I laid my hands on this.
the first book... Breakfast Club was nice.. but the series got even better with book two.
The Breakfast Club centers around Matsumoto x Iitzuka. Matsumoto is a newcomer to the school hostel...
and is placed in the same room with Iitzuka. Iitzuka had a not so nice experience with his step-brother...
and was haunted by it. as expected... Matsumoto will help him deal with his past. it's a typical
story actually... but the supporting characters in this book attracted me most. like the
no-nonsense n hot-tempered Miki-kun, the head of the Student Council... who's only nice when there's
teachers around. and also Inuyama, who's gay and hits on the teacher. hihihi!
the series continues with Room Mate, Bedtime, and Pillow Talk. this time... it focuses
on the relationship of Miki and Inuyama. they're room-mates and are very close friends.
Inuyama has feelings for Miki... but he's not sure what he should do... cos Miki is straight.
Inuyama plans to disappear from Miki's life right after graduation .... cos he doesn't want to
destroy Miki's life with his "gay notions". and that really pisses Miki off... he doesn't want
to lose a friend over some gay matter. Inuyama knows he doesn't want to be "only friends"
with Miki.... while Miki doesn't want to lose a friend. so... the two has to work things out...
feelings to understand... new experience to explore... seeing things from a different view...
bla bla bla.
then there's Door to Door. I didn't expect there to be another continuition of this series...
cos it ended nicely with Pillow Talk. but here's another book.... very much to my delight.
anyway... there's an episode of how Inuyama and Miki became friends. another on Miki-kun
being stalked by two guys. then finally a glimpse into the life of Inuyama x Miki
after graduating.
