Review of George Orwell's 1984

George Orwell’s dystopian masterpiece tells the story of Winston Smith, one of the last people with a memory. Winston works at the Ministry Of Truth, where records from the past are being changed constantly to control the seemingly mindless masses that reside under the ministry’s control. Winston knows that things have got to change. With his newly formed alliance with the rebellious brotherhood, a group set out to destroy big brother and bring truth to the people, he has a fighting chance to restore freedom of thought to the three remaining factions of the world and destroy big brother once and for all.

Review

I have to say that 1984 is one of the best books I have ever read. George Orwell’s thought provoking style sends a terrifying message to anyone who values their values their own free will…and their memory. I highly recommend this revolutionary book to anyone who desires to have a well rounded literary education.

“Outside, even through the shut window pane, the world looked cold. Down in the street little eddies of wind were whirling dust and torn paper into spirals, and though the sun was shining and the sky a harsh blue, there seemed to be no color in anything except the posters that were plastered everywhere.”
