The amateur CIA operative, Mrs. Pollifax, is at it again. The book begins in the United States CIA headquarters, where Pollifax is briefed on her next mission- to deliver passports to an operative in Turkey. In no time, she meets some shady people at the airport…people that might mysteriously show up later in the book. With a strict set of travel laws and a questionable government to deal with, Pollifax has her work cut out for her. She must rely on her wit and amateur training to complete the mission.
Review
Although the stereotypical CIA operative is not a sixty year old woman, this Elanor of Aquataine wanna be is a good change from those stiffs at MI6. The Elusive Mrs. Pollifax is a well planned, entertaining, low calorie read. I thoroughly enjoyed Mrs. Pollifax’s character, and finished this “A” level book in about three hours. Highly recommended if you need a quick read…or if you watch Murder She Wrote.
