Review of H.G. Wells' The Time Machine

The Time Machine tells the story of Michael York who travels nearly a million years into the future. It is a very brief novel about a battle between two futuristic classes, the Eloi and Morlocks. The time traveler’s friends are skeptical about his time travel machine. At the conclusion of the book, York is stunned by the revelation that the current world he lives in has affected the future in an absurd way.

Review

This book was written in 1894 by H.G. Wells. Many consider The Time Machine way ahead of its time. The multi-voiced presentation is beautifully written and entertaining. The Time Machine spawned many futuristic sci-fi works, including comic books and movies. It is truly a thought-provoking story of survival and familiarizing ones self with hostile surroundings. The Time Machine rivals even The War of the Worlds as a top-notch sci-fi novel.
