Why people collect quotes ? Or rather why different individuals take
down different quotes ?
It is that special meaning, that different people give to different
words. The same quote for me and for you has different significance. This
quote touches my inner thoughts. The quote you took down touches your hidden
desires, but may have no sinificance for me what so ever. That's why, I
think, quote collections, that are so numerous in the Internet, have to
be named after their collector. That's how, this collection is Olga Zhurzhenko's
collection.
Quote collecting can even become a separate genre of the literature. Think about it. Series of quotes can represent a personality, if the reader took time to figure out what made this person take down this particular quote. What thoughts evoked this line? What desires are represented by these words?
