Profile
It may be the name Williams in the company title but without Patrick Head there is no doubt that there would not have been the success the team has enjoyed. Frank Williams and Patrick First met when they were both at Wolf Racing
in 1975 and when Williams decided to break away and create Williams Grand Prix Engineering he persuaded Head to go with him. The share of the company remains the same to this day with Williams holding 70% and Head the remaining
30%. It is Head's pragmatism that has turned out cars that are level headed while others have tried a more adventurous approach only to watch the reliable Williams car sail past to championship victory. Head now travles from
his Chelsea home to the Williams factory by helicopter - the man knows how to commute!
