I...do?

I gladly finished filling in the annoying little boxes on the

scantron sheet off my biology lab final and ran from the room as fast as I

could. Visions of microscopes and models of body parts had haunted my

dreams all week, but finally, it was over! The test hadn’t been all

that difficult, but it could have been a lot better if it was blown up

and scattered through oblivion. I had intended to go on to the computer

lab to work on my stories and do some puppetry research when the hill

in the middle of campus caught my eye. It slopes quite gradually and is

very peaceful... surrounded by a circle of trees with others behind them

and partially facing a partially hidden lake, on a cloudless day it

could be mistaken for the Earthling album cover. Well, maybe not

mistaken, but it’s a close match. Sighing at the warm breeze, I

immediately scaled the hill and plopped down underneath a tree. Closing

my eyes behind my sunglasses, I smiled. No more finals until

Thursday... for right now I had hours of peace and qui-

"Hey, don’t you have studying to do!!?" I sat up at that screeching

voice. No. No, it couldn’t be. Not now!!! Not when I was so close to

finally relaxing!!!!!!!!! Biting my lip and hoping it had been a cruel

trick of the wind, I turned to see Thor sitting beside me.

"Thor, what do you want?!" I asked, as nicely as I could.

"I’m lonely!" I had never seen a goblin pout before... I must say,

it’s an improvement.

"So stop playing in the Bog!" I hissed, getting the feeling I wasn’t

going to get my peace and quiet.

"But I’m BORED! I was having fun in the throne room, but his Majesty

got angry and decided since you’re now co-ruler, you have to take

responsibility for your subjects." My, someone was in a whiny mood! His

remarks about Jareth, though, sent bile coursing through my system.

Instinctively, I glanced down at the ring on my left hand. It seemed so

innocent, glittering in the sunlight. I should’ve known he’d pull stuff

like this.

"WHAT?" I glared at the goblin, who returned my stare with an innocent

look... but not too innocent.

"That’s what he said!" This was ridiculous! First Jareth takes me out

and we accidentally get hitched in Vegas, then he doesn’t talk to me

for days, and now he expected me to keep his subjects entertained?!"

Any thoughts as to how the situation was completely amusing left my

head as I realized I still hadn’t gotten the divorce papers.

"Thor... what about those divorce forms I’m supposed to sign?"

"His Highness has them... he says he won’t hand them over unless... " My

eyes narrowed at that statement. This was cruel, even for Jareth!

"We didn’t even mean to get married!!!!! He doesn’t want this,

either... he had –better- hand those papers over!!!" I exploded, shrieking

like a banshee on a bad hair day.

"Well... maybe you can talk to him... I certainly can’t!"

"You’re right... I’m gonna need a really good lawyer... he’s going down!"

I

bellowed, taking a crystal out of my nine ton army bag. (They work so

much better than regular book bags!) Wishing hard, I quickly

transported Thor and myself to the Underground. Looking around, I

realized that we were in the Goblin City, right in front of an

attorney’s office. "Welcome to the Law Firm of Lamb, Curry, and Rice... "

I read out loud, wondering when a gag from Rocky and Bullwinkle had

worked its way into the labyrinth.

"Are you sure this place is decent?"

"Of course... the owner is my uncle!" Thor replied indignantly. That

explained it. Shrugging, I walked inside with Thor on my heels.

"I need an excellent lawyer... I’m in the middle of a divorce and I wanna

make this guy pay!" OK, so I really shouldn’t have been that ambitious,

but I had not had the best of mornings. A short, stocky goblin with

glasses looked at me from across a table.

"Uh... OK, sure! I’ll be glad to help."

"Fantastic!" I crowed, glad that everything was finally working out. He

began to take out some forms and other various paperwork.

"One question, though, before we begin... "

"Yes?"

"What’s a divorce?" Who-boy... maybe this was going to be a little harder

than I had thought...

After examining the facts and going over our goals, I felt a little

better. Thor’s uncle was a pretty good lawyer, for a goblin. He hastily

sent a messenger to Jareth to arrange a meeting. Soon, we received our

reply.

"We’re going to meet him at the castle in an hour... he’s prepping his

attorney and then we’ll get this settled once and for all!"

"Great! How much do I owe you... oh, get it from Jareth... he’ll be

paying

for this," I said, smirking. I’d show his royal Tightness what happened

when he thought his way was supreme...

Jareth sat sprawled across his throne, lazily watching his

goblins as his lawyer droned on and on. He wasn’t worried... he knew he

had the best. If she wanted to play, he’d play and win. The monarch

turned his attention back to the elderly, serious bearded Fae sitting

at a table in front of him.

"So you will be able to pull this off?"

"Of course, your Majesty... I’ve done it many times before."

"Good." There was no way a mortal was going to make him look like an

idiot. Especially not a listian. Deep down he knew that he was

partially responsible for what had happened, but it had been an

accident! Now she was taking things way too far!

Jareth turned his head to the door as a loud banging started to echo

through the room. Rolling his eyes, he turned to his lawyer.

"She always did have a flair for the dramatic." Shaking his head, he

gestured and the doors swung open, revealing Thor, another goblin that

was trying to look professional, and his –dear- wife. He didn’t make a

move to get up or acknowledge their presence; no way was he going to

let her best him. Instead he looked away, crossing his arms over his

chest and pretending to be extremely fascinated by the walls.

"I see you got my message... you may set up at that table," he said,

gesturing to the piece of furniture in the middle of the room. "Thor, I

see you recommended your Uncle Borsht... suddenly things are looking

brighter... for me," Jareth added, smirking as the goblin’s briefcase fell

apart and papers went flying. By the look on Selah’s face, she was

beginning to see which way things would go. "I must say, I am

impressed." Borsht took it as a compliment and grinned stupidly and the

king could tell that his queen was resisting the urge to drop-kick him

across the room. "So you are adjusting to your new duties, hmm?" She

merely narrowed her eyes at him dangerously before helping the goblin

lawyer collect the scattered forms.

"There are some duties, Jareth, that I wouldn’t do even if you gave me

my dreams." She smirked at his scowl. He was not going to let her beat

him!

"I must say I have been quite generous... "

"By not once coming tome so we could talk this out? Let me

guess... you’ve been consoling yourself with other... visits. Well I’m

sorry

you’re not happy bout this, but neither am I! And you can’t ignore what

you’ve done! It’s ridiculous!" He blinked in confusion at that.

"What are you talking about?" Before she could reply, her

lawyer intervened.

"I am sorry, but there will be no more talking about this subject

until we sit down for this meeting!"

"Which can begin right now," the Fae attorney stated, looking up as

the others sat down.

Stretching slightly, Jareth rose up from his throne in one graceful

motion before taking his place at the table alongside his attorney. At

Selah’s curious glance he was happy to make the introductions. "Do

forgive me, dear... this is Jahen, my attorney... the best in the

Underground... but I’m sure yours is just as capable." His smirk became a

wicked grin as she turned and saw that Borscht was occupying himself by

jamming pencils up his nose. Glaring, she kicked the goblin under the

table.

"What? I’m just warming up, here!" he exclaimed confidently.

Whimpering almost inaudibly, Selah laid her head in a palm, trying not

to show signs of defeat. Things were going perfectly.

I sighed as the meeting got underway... things were not looking good.

"All right, then... let’s see here... basically all my client wants is a

clean break from this relationship. No mentions in tabloids or talk

shows or anything of that nature-"

            I interrupted J’s lawyer immediately. "I wouldn’t do that anyway! I’m

not as cruel as some people in this room... you don’t have to put me on a

gag order... I can behave-"

"Speaking of gag, I think we might need one to get through this little

get-together," Jareth interrupted, smiling sweetly at me. I glared and

folded my arms over my chest.

"As I was saying... we really don’t want that much... merely privacy

about

this matter... a clean break, and all your client’s David Bowie albums."

            "WHAT?"

"What’s yours is mine dear... I’m just looking out for you... you also

forgot to mention that I want her Star Wars collection as well," he

added, glancing over at Jahen. I felt my face turning all the colors of

the rainbow and decided to just keep my mouth shut.

"No deal... we want twenty-five percent of his magic, a small section of

the labyrinth, and all of your client’s fabric softener," Borsht

replied, his attention diverted as a chicken ran across the room.

Irritated, I yanked him back down into his chair as he tried to give

chase.

"What? Then how am I supposed to where my tights!?" Jareth growled,

glaring at me. I snickered quietly and exchanged grins with Thor. That

little guy was really eating this up, for some strange reason. I

briefly wondered when legal issues were so entertaining to goblins.

"I am not giving you my magic! I need it to maintain my kingdom!!"

"Please, you use it mostly to change clothes and freshen up your

make-up!" I bit back, leaning forward in my chair. "Maybe now it would

be put to good use!"

"And maybe you’d gain a little respect without those stupid obsessions

of yours!" Jareth replied, leaning forward as well.

"Stupid obsessions? Labyrinth just happens to be one of those ‘stupid

obsessions,’ moron!!"

He glanced back at his attorney before replying. "You see, she’s being

difficult! She can never be serious and then she has to get violent... "

"Do you mean abuse?" Jahen asked, scribbling on a notepad.

"I DO NOT ABUSE YOU, JARETH!!!!" I yelled, standing up so fast I

knocked the chair over.

"Emotional, anyway," J said, ignoring my outburst.

            "Why you... " I snarled.

"You see? Totally incorrigible... I can’t believe I married you!" He

practically spat the words out.

My eyes narrowed to slits. "It wasn’t like I knew what was going

on!!!"

            "Well, neither did I!!!"

"THEN WHY ARE YOU BEING SO DIFFICULT!!!??"

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!???"

"You... you... let me see!" I said, managing to find some sort of

composure.

"First you don’t stop by for days... then you send Thor to me to be

baby-sat, and you withhold the divorce papers until I give into your

demands and-" I didn’t even have time to catch my breath before he

interjected.

"What in blazes are you referring to?"

"Don’t pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about!!!"

His tone softened slightly. "Who’s pretending? Darling, I honestly

haven’t a clue!"

Rolling my eyes in disgust, I righted the chair and plunked myself into

it."What happened this afternoon! I was enjoying a nice peaceful rest

when Thor shows up and says he’s bored and that you told him to come to

me because I should get used to my queenly duties!!!"

"I never did that... "

"Well then I don’t know who did! Besides that, he says you’re holding

the paperwork hostage until I give in to your desires!"

"Selah, have a little heart! Do you honestly think I’d be –that- cruel?

Before you answer that, I wouldn’t! I don’t even have the papers! I

haven’t even signed them yet... I gave them to Thor to have you look over

them... "

At that both our eyes widened with realization, then narrowed.

"THOR!!!" we both yelled, turning to where the goblin had been sitting.

The chair was empty. I looked up as movement caught my eye and turned

to see a small goblin hastily trying to escape the throne room unseen.

He turned to face us at the mention of his name.

"Uh... heeheehee... I think this is all a big misunderstanding... I’m

gonna go

now... " He started to run, but Jareth had materialized between him and

the door.

"And just where would you be off to in such a hurry?"

"Well... I thought maybe you two would like to continue your fightin’ in

private... really isn’t something I should be seeing, as entertaining as

it is... " he added, cackling slightly.

"You mean you did all this for –entertainment-?!!?!?!!" I yelled,

quickly losing my composure again.

"Well... ya gots to admit it was kinda funny... "

"Funny... FUNNY????!!!! You lied and kept the paperwork because you

thought it was FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!??????"

"Pretty much, yeah," he said, shrugging. At that I lost it.

"Why you-" I began to charge towards the now-terrified goblin but was

suddenly held back. I resisted the urge to elbow Jareth as he struggled

to keep his grip on me.

"Darling, easy! You’re not going to get anywhere by losing your

temper!"

"Look who’s talking! Just let me go... I promise I’ll make it swift and

mostly painless... just let me at him!!!!!!!!!!!!" I stopped struggling at

his chuckling. Turning as much as I could in his arms, I gave him a

"what the blazes is so fraggin funny?" look.

"Your spunk is amusing, darling, but I wouldn’t waste it on a goblin.

I’ll take care of him... "

"The Bog?" I asked, smiling a cruelly sweet smile at Thor.

"Oh, no... that’s been done too often... I was thinking more along the

lines

of manual labor... " I glanced back at Jareth and we both grinned before

turning back to Thor.

"I’m not gonna like this much... am I?" he managed to mutter.

"No... you’re definitely not." I added my own smirk to J’s statement and

watched in satisfaction as Thor was transported to other parts of the

castle to begin his tasks.

Jareth loosened his grip on me slightly as he turned to address the

lawyers. "I don’t think we’ll be needing you anymore, gentlemen... the

lady and I can handle the rest on our own.

            "Are you sure?"

"Positive... I have a feeling our requests were fuelled by anger... and

now

there’s no need for them. We’ll handle things." Nodding, Borscht and

Jahen left the throne room, shaking their heads in confusion. "Your

payments are in the mail!" he called after them, and I wondered exactly

how he planned to mail boxes of peaches.

"Well... at least that’s been taken care of!" I said, breaking the sudden

silence.

            "Yes, that’s true."

"So now all we need to do is sign the papers? Augh, Thor still has

them!!!"

"I’ll get them back, don’t worry... I’m sorry you had to be put through

this."

I turned to face him, completely surprised by his simple tone.

            "What?"

"I honestly didn’t mean for all this to happen... "

"Yeah, I know... I was just too intent on having fun before finals... I

have

to admit, it’s been interesting. Even though we haven’t been around

each other for the entire length of our marriage," I said wryly. He

returned my smile.

"Why don’t you stay for dinner... you don’t have anything else to do?"

"I don’t think so... you sure?"

"It would honor me if the Goblin Queen would grace me with her

company," he replied, a teasing smile playing across his features.

"Then it would be an honor for me to join you," I said, grinning.

I casually glanced up at J as I began to eat the wonderful meal

he had had made for our dining pleasure. I paused slightly as I watched

the candlelight dance in his eyes, and something deep inside me that

had been struggling to be kept bottled up during the past few days

resurfaced. At times it was almost an honor to have this entire little

incident happen... I vaguely wondered what it would be like to be his

wife... but I knew that I valued my freedom and had plenty of time to get

married if I so choose later in life. Besides, Jareth felt the same

way... we were simply two completely free spirits. But still... it did

have

its moments...

Absently, I smoothed the skirt of the sleeveless lavender gown I was

wearing before daring to speak.

"So... how have you been?" I asked, then realized how incredibly dumb

that sounded. He either didn’t mind or didn’t notice.

"I’ve been well... preparing for our trip, you know... " his voice faded

as

our eyes met. Sighing, I returned my gaze to my plate. It was so

difficult to deal with things sometimes...

"You know... we’ve managed to stay married for almost six days now... I

believe that’s a record for both of us. This deserves a toast."

Smiling, he conjured two glasses filled to the brim with peach wine. We

both took one look at them and winced... that was what had gotten us into

this situation in the first place! Smiling sheepishly, the king waved

his hand again, changing the contents to pure, crystal-clear water. "To

us."

I hesitated slightly before replying... did I want to acknowledge that

there might be mutual interest between us or not? Working up my nerve,

I decided that he probably knew as much, anyway.

"To us," I replied, letting my glass meet his with a musical clink.

Slowly I let myself sip my drink, trying to put from my mind what my

heart was feeling. As I set it back on the table and began to withdraw

my hand, Jareth suddenly reached out and took it. I moved my gaze to

meet his, wondering what on earth he was thinking... could it be the same

thing that I was? I momentarily lost myself in the intensity of his

gaze and the light circling of his fingertips against my wrist. Trying

again to obtain my hand, I began to pull away, but he leaned forward,

not about to let go.

            "I can’t, Jareth... I can’t and I won’t. You know that."

"I know... " he sighed, brushing his fingertips lightly against my wrist.

"But I can always hope, can’t I?"

"Who knows... maybe one of these days I’ll totally lose my mind and give

in... " At that he laughed.

"You, give in? Isn’t that a contradiction in terms?"

"I suppose you’re right... but still, you never know." I offered him a

slight smile, which he returned.

"Until then... I suppose we really do have to take care of this thing...

"

gesturing, a stack of papers materialized on the tabletop.

            "Yeah... "

"It’s not that I wouldn’t enjoy you’re company, dear, but you know how

it is... "

"Of course! Like I said, we would never be able to stand each other!"

When I looked at him, though, I knew it was a lie.

"Well then... since we’re sure this is the best thing... " he produced a

quill and handed it to me. "Does everything seem to be in order?" I

glanced over the papers, raising an eyebrow at a statement which gave

him ownership of my Bowie collection. He grinned sheepishly and made it

disappear. Nodding in agreement, I swiftly added my signature to the

forms. Handing it over to Jareth, I watched as he did the same. Waving

a hand, they disappeared into whatever vault he had for safekeeping.

"I’ll send these out in the morning, myself." Nodding, I hoped he’d

follow through... it would be a little difficult to explain to my choir

director that one of our chaperons just happened to be my husband...

"Well, now that that’s done, I suppose it’s back to being friends."

            "Friends," I added. "Good friends."

"How good?" he asked, his eyes sparkling.

"Very funny... and you say I can never be serious?"

"It just seems so appealing now that it’s so wrong... " he teased.

Chuckling, I shook my head and dived back into my food.

Later that night I walked into my room, humming softly. It had been an

interesting marriage... not bad for my first one. Oh, now that’s a

thought! Rolling my eyes, I gingerly slipped off the band on my left

ring finger and turned it in my hands, watching the light reflect off

its surface. Pressing it lightly to my lips, I hid it in my hiding

place, a small chest with a fake bottom. I whirled as I heard a gagging

noise.

            "Thor!!!?"

"Why do you people always hafta be so sentimental?"

"Because being apathetic gets boring... what do you want?"

He grimaced expressively. "Jareth says that since you’re his ex, my

punishment includes doing manual labor for ya, too." I grinned at

that... now this could be fun! I would have to be careful, though; I

didn’t want him messing up any of my stuff. Thinking quietly for a few

moments, I chuckled as inspiration hit. Leaving my room briefly to get

what I needed from the bathroom, I returned and threw a twenty-four

pack of toilet paper at the goblin.

"I can’t think of anything right now... but you can take this and go

teepee some people in my acting class... start with the ones who stopped

coming, even when they were supposed to perform... " I grinned maliciously

at the thought. He nodded.

"But the trees are so tall! How am I supposed to get the stuff up

there!"

"That’s up to you... just do it!"

            "Yes, yer Majesty... "

"You don’t have to use the title anymore, y’know."

"Yeah, well, Jareth says I should be on my best behavior with you."

Aww... I smirked slightly... he probably figured bugging me was his job. I

watched in amusement as Thor tried to carry the gargantuan package of

toilet paper as he disappeared. Man, now I couldn’t wait until my

acting final! Shaking my head in amusement, I wasn’t sure whether I was

looking forward to spending two weeks with Jareth, or frightened for

all of humanity. Grinning to myself, I flicked on some Bowie, realizing

that if I could stand being married to J, I could stand pretty much

anything.

4 - alternate version

I casually glanced up at J as I began to eat the wonderful meal he had

"You know... we’ve managed to stay married for almost six days now... I

Smiling, he conjured two glasses filled to the brim with peach wine. We

both took one look at them and winced... that was what had gotten us into

this situation in the first place! Smiling sheepishly, the king waved

his hand again, changing the contents to pure, crystal-clear water. "To

            "Jareth... " I sighed, averting my gaze. "I... I can’t. You know I

can’t."

"But why?" He wasn’t demanding, or pleading, or anything that I had

expected... merely wondering.

My old excuse came forward hard and fast.         "For starters, I won’t until

I’m marri-" I was cut off as he smiled slightly and raised an eyebrow.

"Oh yeah... that’s right, we are married."

"But one would never know it by our behavior... why don’t we do something

to remedy that... before we go through with the divorce."

"Because that would be as meaningless as a fling! I don’t want to maybe

end up getting married one day and then have to explain that I would’ve

waited but I accidentally got hitched to a Goblin King during my

freshman year of college! It’s not that I don’t want to, believe

me... it’s just my morals."

"I understand, dear, really I do... that aside, though, would you be

willing?" Just his voice was enough to bring my stare back to his eyes.

The word formed on my tongue slowly, though it came to my mind twice as

fast. Before I could get it out, though... my old apprehensions seized me.

"I don’t know... " He squeezed my hand lightly before standing.

"Why are you so slow to admit it? What’s stopping you besides what

you’ve already said?" Sighing, I stood and turned away, not knowing how

I could explain.

"It’s just... I doubt I could ever be a good match for anyone... "

"And why is that?" He was so close... so very close... I could feel his

breath against my neck.

"Because, well... I’m just not loving... I’m a regular ice queen, Jareth-"

"Liar... I’ve seen you when you’re with family, friends... when you’re

with

me. That’s not your real reason. What are you hiding?"

Looking down, I knew I really didn’t have to answer that, but there was

no reason why I shouldn’t. "Because... I just don’t think anyone would be

willing to love me in that way. I have tons of friends... a good

family... but well, let’s face it: I’m not drop-dead gorgeous... I’m

stubborn

as hell-" I stopped slightly as I felt his arms enfolding me... his hands

lightly glided down my arms, leaving light trails of fire behind.

"... not really out-going or introverted... have too wild an

imagination... I’m

not anything spectacular! I’m just me... " I inhaled sharply as he gently

took an earlobe between his lips and began to suck

ever-so-gently... shivering, I instinctively leaned back against him. His

voice and words strengthened and weakened me all at once.

"But love, that’s what makes you so appealing... you aren’t anyone

else... you’re you. Now... what is your real answer... if you had the

opportunity without losing your purity, would you?"

My answer came much more swiftly this time. "Yes. But I don’t see how-"

The words faded as he turned me to face him and offered me a crystal.

"This is the answer to our dilemma, dear. Once the spell is cast, we

are allowed to live out your wish... your dream... but as soon as we are

done... it becomes simply that: a dream... sheltered from reality forever.

So, we would have our night together, you would walk away with your

dignity, and I would continue the hunt, trying to convince you to give

in without such compromises... " I looked with wonder at the shimmering

sphere.

"You would do that for me?" He nodded quietly. "But why?" Nothing had

to be said... looking into his eyes, I received my answer immediately and

he received his. Wordlessly, he tossed the crystal up into the air

where it became a shower of magic. Looking around, I realized we were

in his room... a room that I had been in a few times before, but never for

this purpose. Along the walls, though, was a magical film, like the

shell of a crystal... he was keeping his promise.

My attention returned to him as he gingerly took my hand in his own and

began to lightly run his fingers over my palm. Blinking in surprise, I

wondered why I had never realized that such a simple action could be so

stimulating. Smiling softly, Jareth gently worked his way up my bare

arm and across my shoulder, stroking my skin lightly. My gaze became

trapped on his eyes as he reached the back of my neck and began to pull

me near. Tenderly, he kissed me, burying his hand in my hair and

pressing me to him. I couldn’t help but tremble openly as he guided my

mouth open, wrapping his other arm low around my back. Suddenly,

nothing seemed to matter except the rhythm of his heartbeat, his

breath...

He broke the connection only to move his mouth to my neck, and I sighed

with relief of desire finally being fulfilled and anticipation as his

tongue brushed lightly against my skin. Caught up in his presence, his

closeness, I didn’t hesitate to run my hands underneath his shirt,

hoping his generosity wouldn’t be wasted by my inexperience...

I backed away as I felt things change... then noticed that the Goblin King

had used his magic to rid himself of his clothes. Slightly startled,

but more excited and intrigued, I returned to his waiting embrace and

kissed him deeply. Slowly, deliberately he moved his hands to the

closure of my dress and all I noticed was the feeling of freedom and

open air as it hit the floor with a light rustle. As badly as I wanted

this, there was still a feeling deep inside that he was doing this to

get what he wanted... that there was no way he could possibly be doing it

just as much for me. I had read the posts and was familiar with his

need for pleasure at times... perhaps preserving my integrity was just so

he could finally boast that he had broken my will... well, since I was

going to emerge whole, so to speak, I could at least do him the favor

of fulfilling his needs, if it was what he wanted.

Before he had a chance to do anything else, I ran my hands up to his

shoulders and suddenly pressed him down on the bed. He gave a slight

sound of surprise, but that was quickly muffled by my mouth on his.

Slowly I moved my mouth to his neck, then moved to his chest, tracing

circles around his nipples with my tongue, relishing the soft moans he

let out in response. Covering him with kisses, I let my fingertips

dance over his exposed skin, lightly massaging away any tensions he

might have had. When I finally reached his waist he urgently pressed a

hand to my head, trying to rush me to go lower. I briefly raised my

gaze to meet his, giving him a wicked grin before tracing the slight

indentation of where his waistband had pressed into his skin with my

tongue. He shivered as I worked my way down, choosing instead to lick

down the crease of his thigh, prolonging the wait. Slowly I planted

open-mouthed kisses along his thigh, then worked my way up the other. I

knew it was killing him, but it was what he had wanted. Finally, when I

knew he absolutely couldn’t stand it any more, I moved my hands to his

organ and began stroking lightly. He quietly moaned as I gently took

him in, sucking and flicking him with my tongue... I was inexperienced,

yes, but not stupid. I had read enough labysmut to know exactly how to

go about this... Just as I felt that he was about ready to give, I

released him, pausing only momentarily to give a final, fleeting lap of

my tongue against his very tip... he moaned in protest and I slowly ran my

hands over his hips and brushed my tongue against the base of his

manhood before running it down his organ...

Suddenly, blinking, I realized I was in quite a different position... I

looked up to see Jareth staring down at me, his eyes filled with

emotion as he laid me back against the soft mattress and sea of

pillows. He leaned down and his lips brushed against my ear as he

whispered. "This is your dream as well, love... I’m flattered that you’d

do it all for me, but this spell is for you, as well." He raised his

mouth to meet mine again as he ran a hand over the undergarments I was

still wearing, causing them to vanish. Something inside me shuddered as

I realized I was more afraid of being loved than I was of loving...

He pulled back slightly and I blushed under his gaze. I relaxed

slightly, though, as he gave me a reassuring smile and bent to kiss

down my neck... I shivered fiercely as his fingertips lightly moved over

my breast, gently exploring and letting me become used to his magic

touch. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I didn’t hesitate to pull him

close as his mouth reached down to lightly suck on my nipple, his

tongue swirling unrecognizable patterns over my skin. Vaguely I

wondered why I had bothered to resist before, but any clear thought was

soon clouded over by a fog of pleasure. I relaxed and happily let him

take control as he moved his mouth across to my other breast, his hands

running down over my sides, leaving my skin tingling with warmth. I

shivered with anticipation as I noticed his hand working its way down,

then leaned my head back into the pillows and allowed a soft moan to

escape me as it found its destination. I was incredibly surprised as to

how great it really was... reading about it is one thing, but experiencing

it...

Jareth raised his gaze to look at me, his eyes smoldering, giving him

even more of a feline appearance. He kept his eyes fixed on mine as he

slowly began to move his fingertips along me, circling the flesh

between my legs with the utmost precision and tenderness... I finally had

to look away, it was sensory overload. Pleased with my reactions, he

slowly pressed his lips on the hollow between my breasts and slid a

long, passionate kiss down my middle, his fingers all the while never

stopping their magic. It was ironic... me, the one who always tries to be

dominant in any situation, suddenly gladly becoming submissive... me, one

who doesn’t like to admit weakness was suddenly gladly crying out at

his touches... me, the queen of stubborness was finally giving in... and

enjoying every bit of it.

My eyes were pleading as he moved his mouth closer... Jareth merely

grinned and passed the area his hands were stroking by, opting instead

to lick down my upper leg... then up the other... I could feel my body

shudder as he planted light, maddening kisses along my waistline,

gladly taking his time. Making me wait, because I had made him. I

whimpered as he removed his hands, sliding them to my hips... I didn’t

notice his head bending down to take their place...

My eyes flicked back under my eyelids as he began to lick and suck at

my clit, unable to keep my pleasure muted. His fingertips danced along

middle and reached up to lightly caress my breasts as molten fire

flowed through every part of me. It was almost too much when he ran his

tongue along the egde of my vagina, then slid it into me, teasing me,

telling me of things yet to come... all I could do was clasp my arms

tightly around him and hang on... he really was like a large cat... a cat

contentedly lapping at its cream...

When he knew I couldn’t stand the wait any longer, when he knew that I

just was going mad from pleasure he returned his lips to mine, and

entered. I increased my hold on him, nuzzling his neck lightly when a

sudden realization hit me... all I was feeling was pleasure... shouldn’t

there be some pain? Jareth chuckled at my quizical stare.

"This is a dream, remember? Even though it is real now... it still has

the qualities of a dream... " he managed, his voice almost all breath. I

nodded, my attention diverted as he slowly began to move within me,

stirring new pleasures, new emotions... when he finally sent fire through

me I let myself be taken away into a whole new meaning of pleasure...

I smiled tiredly and snuggled closer to him, laying my head lightly on

my husband’s chest and sighed when he wrapped his arms round me and

pulled me tight... we were both extremely pleased and extremely tired, but

that didn’t matter. We had reached a compromise, and what a compromise

it had been...

When sunlight streaked through the window it seemed like it had been

ages since the night before... raising my head up I noticed that the magic

was gone from the room... and that Jareth and I were lying on a

neatly-made bed, both of us fully clothed. Yawning, he opened his eyes

and smiled at me as he rolled onto his side.

"As of now it was all a dream, love... part of the blessing and the curse

of such a spell... you are still as pure as you ever were... and the dream

is

enclosed in crystal... something to help you through those hard times... "

I nodded, knowing that for now it was more than enough to satisfy me.

"Yes, but I can assure you it was one of the best dreams I’ve ever

had."

"I agree," he whispered, lightly brushing his lips against mine. "We

do have to get going on the forms, though... " he said, and I could have

sworn I heard regret in his voice. Sitting up, he turned and gestured,

turning our evening clothes into comfortable satin robes. "These are

more suitable to face the morning in," he said, smiling as he helped me

out of bed. "I believe this is what you were looking for." I glanced

down at the crystal he had produced and watched it turn into the

paperwork. Nodding, I took it and glanced over everything... not one

selfish demand, not one silly request. Smiling, I took the offered

quill pen and added my signature before handing it to him. He quickly

signed his name and gestured, sending the papers to their destination.

"Thank you," I whispered. Understanding was evident in his eyes.

"Your welcome... well, I think we’ve worked up quite an appetite, how

about some breakfast?"

I chuckled at his wicked grin and let him lead me to a table that soon

offered quite a feast.

**************

Thor grumbled as he stomped up the stairs. Work! WORK!!! Of all the

things that could have possibly been punishments... he stopped at the

Queen’s door, the room she had used when she had spent a week at the

castle, presuming that was where she was.

"Come on, Queenie! Time to get up!!" He banged harder when there was

no answer. "RISE AND SHINE!!!!!!!"

"We’re up Thor, there’s no need to shout." The goblin turned and

nodded at the king standing in the open doorway behind him. His eyes

widened as he got a glimpse of who was standing behind the king,

though... surely it couldn’t be... !!!!

"Do you have a problem, Thor?" the Queen asked, giving him an amused

smirk.

"Uh..no, your Majesty!!! None at all!!! I just... I... I’m gonna go

downstairs and clean the throne room!!!" He turn and was so intent on

getting away that he tripped on the carpet and fell down the flight of

stairs at the end of the hall.

"Well... it’s been fun, but I suppose the honeymoon’s over, as they say,"

I said, turning to Jareth after we had eaten.

"Yes... but we can still be friends."

            "Good friends."

"How good?" he asked, offering me a wicked grin. I rolled my eyes,

knowing that I still wouldn’t be able to escape his advances... our night

hadn’t really happened, if you looked at it from a realistic point of

view... but it was as real a dream I had ever had. I watched as he

vanished, and paused only to remove the band on my left ring finger and

put it in my small chest with the fake bottom. Turning, my gaze fell on

my stand-up of Luke Skywalker...

"Don’t worry, love... he may have had me in a dream, but I’d offer you

the real thing in a heartbeat," I said, smiling assuredly, hoping

Jareth wasn’t listening. Shaking my head, I knew our trip to Europe was

going to be interesting... he wouldn’t let me live this down any time

soon. Glancing around, I left my inner sanctum to find a suitcase. Now

was as good a time to pack as any.
