Houtwiel", "de Sippenfennen" and the "Ottema-Wiersma"
reserve are some of the better-known natural areas, accessible via the many cycle routes. |

Situated within biking distance, the "Lauwersmeer" area is a scenic place, full of creatures who enjoy the peace and quiet there. |
