Clean Block I truly believe that this clean block is the play of this series. This block will likely be the key of the result of this series. I have picked the Pistons to win this series. They showed me that they are capable of doing so. Two close games at Indiana. The key is they play good defense, if the score in game 2 (72-67) is any indication. As I have talked about this some days ago, if Rip Hamilton can play well and score, and the rest of the Pistons can score a bit here and there, and continue their suffocating D, they can beat the Pacers. It is almost unfair here to discuss this series because I'm rooting for the Pistons. When I was watching this game two yesterday, a friend of mine started the discussion of Tayshaun Prince. He said that he didn't understand why Prince played so much. His argument is that Prince can't score, can't drive, can't play D, too slow. I couldn't say he was wrong at that moment. But the next thing I know, Tayshaun Prince made that sick block. I guess from now on I will have to say that Tayshaun Prince desrerves his minutes, because he plays good defense. I still have to admit that his scoring ability is limited, but he plays good defense, block, steal, just like Andre Kirilenko, because they both have long arms. The argument that he is slow isn't valid either. Look at how he chased Reggie Miller and elevated himself to make the block.
Good D = Boring Basketball? I have been listening to this statement for a while. Low scoring basketball games are boring games. I have to disagree. In wake of the history low scoring basketball between the Pacers and the Pistons, I make this following statement: Low scoring games are not necessarily boring games, as long as the game is close, it is an exciting game. |
