Historical background:
Yumeno Koujo was a young Japanese girl living in the suburbs of Tokyo. Her family was strict traditional Japanese. Her home was built in the old ways, and her family upheld the old traditions. She has been trained in many forms of Martial Arts, along with sword and staff fighting.
While she was surrounded by old time Japanese homes and people, she had found time and resources to learn about the modern world. She still takes her training and heritage very seriously, but she feels that she wouldn’t be able to function without knowing about the modern world.
One day, she was practicing her martial arts in the local dojo, when a strange boy appeared out of thin air in front of her. He then ran outside and disappeared again. Koujo was very shaken by the incident, and headed home.
On the way, the boy appeared again, following her. She asked him his name, and he said it was unimportant. When she asked what was important, he replied: "You are." She got very little out of him after that, other than he'd been watching her for some time. He then disappeared again.
The next day however, Koujo was working in the garden, when the boy appeared again. She asked him why he came, and he said to see her.
The man took her far away to a strange place and told her of the war between humanity and the forces of AI. He told her that her life as she remembered it was nothing but an elaborate dream put together by a mutinous enemy created at the hand of mankind.
After knowing all this, and hearing the pain her people had gone through, Koujo had to accept....
So, Koujo joined the team of freedom fighters, and took on the codename "Yume," the Japanese word for dreams.
Skills:
Her martial arts expertise assisted her in helping the team in its endeavors, leaving the computer dealings to the others. She learned how to use a gun and other weapons, but prefers to use her own staff and katana.
Specialities:
Martial arts and swordfighting. By remaining calm and quiet, she can sense key elements others may miss in their haste.
Equipment:
Yume is especially trained in the use of her Katana, which is automatically loaded whenever she enters the Matrix, strapped to a sheath on her back.
Though she has no use or desire for guns, her fellow freedom fighters request that she wears a Sigpro SPC 2000 9mm in her belt, just in case.
Other information:
Yume is very quiet and reserved. She tends to keep extreme emotions inside, preferring to appear less energetic. Sometimes she can come off as cold, but that's not always true. She can be quite active and outgoing when she wants to.
She has a deep sense of loyalty to her friends and teammates. She'll do anything for her friends and her cause.
As a deep believer in Japanese philosophy and tradition, she enjoys her quiet time alone in her room, and visiting quiet places in the Matrix.
