Topic: Unlimited God Scriptures: Psalm 78:12-20, 40-42 Sunday, December 5, 2004 Message Delivery: Rev. Caleb Williams Notes provided by: Sis. Jackie Knox
God, in all His unlimited resources, was limited by the disobedience and rebellious ways of the children of Israel.
A. God's natural attributes are:
1. Omnipresent - there at all times
2. Omniscient - knows all things past, present, and future
3. Omnipotent - can do anything; able by the exercise of His will to accomplish anything being only limited by His perfect nature ("I am that I am" - complete by Himself)
4. Unchanging in His person, essence, attributes, consciousness, and purpose
B. The children of Israel did not limit God. He was only limited to them. They were seeing God through their own eyes.
C. What limits Him to you?
1. Lying
2. Worshipping other gods - If you're not doing the right you know to do, then you're worshipping other gods
3. Faithlessness - Unbelief of His people (non-trust of the Word). To obey God means to believe God. (Matthew 13:53-58)
D. If you love Him, keep His commandments - exercise faith and obey His word. You can't take shortcuts to get God's plans to manifest in your life.
E. Take limits off of God by:
1. Being committed to obeying Him - When we are obedient, we set the annointing in motion and we tap into the supernatural power of God. (II Corinthians 9:11, Psalm 34:10, Philippians 4:19)
2. Taking the step of faith that will appropriate what God's grace has already provided. (Hebrews 11:6)
People who have faith and those who have no faith both have the same problems - the difference between the two is how they respond to the situations they find themselves in. Remember that God never failed - trust in Him and have faith, live by faith, and walk by faith.
