Swimming In the Ocean

I lie somewhere
Between sleep and awake
I can feel you close
But your not there

I listen for your knock
Looking out the peep hole
I feel that sinking feeling
It's not the right time on the clock

The feeling deep down inside
Starts at my heart
To my gut its moving
Where I wish it didn't reside

Snapping out of it
Driving down the road
Sensing your presence
Everything seems to fit

Suddenly, I'm reminded too
Of my heart and my stomach
That feeling in-between
And the anticipation of you

Sometimes overwhelmed
With these butterflies
I love to swim in the ocean
And places that you've visited

Driving by a familiar place
For you I look
Even here in my heart
Yet, there isn't a trace
