Souls In Time

Your protective nature
Initial and natural
Upon our first touch
You didn't know me
Yet you knew me
You hadn't seen me
Yet you saw into me
Deep, perceptive
Sometimes assuming
Or was that intuiting
Was it reflecting
In a pool of past emotions

We all seek
That which seems out of reach
We are born to the adventure
We are born to be dared
This is why we have two feet
The land of common traits
Often challenging fate
We tread over the quality
Intermeshed and lost
Thorns taken out
Some replaced

Is it meant to be dependency
Is it just a brief tendency
After eons of time
And the distance of space
Is this what your ready for
Is it the wisdom of lore
Or the maturity of two souls

I wonder, does fate draw us back
Or push us forward, to where
Who is willing to remain, to be
A winged one, an angel, to free
Those that froze from looking behind
Are the feathers meant to come together
Or is it a season of migration
The meeting and our formation of expectation
Of where home is

To dream, to wonder, to wander
This is sometimes forgotten
Would there be a challenge
For these two, or are they now
the challengers of there own needs
Friendship is assured
Let's not falter before
Let's falter after
