Waiting For You

I can be riding a bike
or taking a walk,
doesn't matter, as I was lost.
Not lost to where I am,
but of who I am.
Isolated, like the wind
does to a dandelion.
Here inside of remoteness
most things seemed meaningless.
So, I turned, not to others,
but withdrew for a period of time;
I was merely confused by all of you.

I got out my candle,
and became a lover of art and words.
This meditation, this creativeness
enabled me to find myself
in the cosmos and the cosmos in me.
It was just this being lost
that enabled me to find
who it is...that I am.

I discovered the relationship
I have to you and the universe.
Therefore, I was not, nor am I a fool,
nor are you, in seeking solitude.
Sometimes we need the space,
this emptiness to be revealed
by the candle light.
