En affinite avec le roman d'Emily Bronte, Kader Belarbi rend palpable sa ? meteorologie ? des sentiments. Les ombres et lumieres de l'espace mobile, signe par le scenographe Peter Pabst, s'accordent a la partition originale de Philippe Hersant - commande de l'Opera de Paris - pour creer ce climat de tempete passionnelle. Belarbi y met a nu que le romantisme n'est pas seulement un moment revolu de l'histoire de la sensibilite, mais une maniere de sentir, toujours actuelle. Un danseur, dont l'excellence est ? pressee ? par le temps - plus cruellement que dans tout art - a su restituer cette melancolie. Voila qui n'est pas indifferent. ... (B+)

The film reminds me the recent film of Queentin Tarentino, but of course much worse. It's like putting together the concept of Kill Bill and XMEN. A continuous worship of the martial arts of the Eastern, or in particular the Hong Kong style Kungfu can be found in many Hollywood films now, and it's no deny that the Western production comprises an advanced development of shooting technique with their editing technology, and they attempt to produce their hi-tech version of kungfu. The film also pays a hommage to the Chinese style of Zen and meditation, at least superficially. Perhaps you will have a more enjoyable journey to the film if you simply view it as a real-play version of comic story... surely you can be better satisfied.
It is interesting in looking into the perception the Hollywood producers, or perhaps also the mindset of the Western world to the culture of the East or as they called, the 'mysterious Orient'...I am having a realistic feeling of this especially when I am staying in a world of curiosity where the French people have their fantasy and skeptics to the recent development in China...
One thing more, the screenplayer may have read the works of our Kungfu storywriter, Mr. Ku Lung... (C)

...Susanne Linke revient pour la seconde fois a l'Opera. Si JardinCour , cree en 1988 pour le GRCOP , racontait les peripeties d'un corps de ballet au cours d'une repetition, Ich bin… revient sur les ancrages de la choregraphe dans la danse moderne allemande et sur l'importance de cette ecole au XXe siecle. Piece sur l'identite et la transmission, elle est aussi un voyage dans les strates du temps eclaire par la musique de Tomasz Sikorski, jouee pour la premiere fois a l'Opera.

De la fresque sociale sur fond d'exil de 1933, la choregraphe - guidee par la mise en scene de Laurent Pelly - aura su faconner une satire humoristique de la societe de surconsommation actuelle, ou le tape-a-l'oeil et l'exces ne jurent pas avec la recherche d'une verite de l'homme...

Trois femmes, trois choregraphes, trois belles personnalites. L'Europe au feminin conjuguee en un programme dont le fil conducteur pourrait etre celui de l'emotion. Car au-dela de la singularite de leur style, si Michele Noiret , Susanne Linke et Laura Scozzi partagent bien un point commun, c'est leur talent a creer des images choregraphiques fortes. Le monde interieur des interpretes et leur energie expressive, les mythologies contemporaines et leurs metaphores, la memoire du passe et ses chemins secrets… tout est matiere a un travail cisele qui convoque aussi toutes les ressources de l'invention musicale et scenographique. La creation est pour elles une aventure de la vie dans laquelle elles se plongent entieres avec un vrai gout de la recherche et de la rencontre.
