Character Type: New Republic Navy Officer
Species: Devaronian Sex: Male Age: 28 Height: 180 cm. Weight: 95 Kg. Your average, plain Devaronian male, Lucy as his friends call him is often mistaken for someone he isn't: A ferocious devil incarnate. The outwardly most obvious trait he has are his horns, characteristic to all Devaronian males. This and the sharp teeth give him an aura of evil. Lucy has brown eyes, slightly yellow teeth and light brown skin. He is completely bald, has two brown horns sticking out from the top-front of his head (pointing backwards and slightly down), and has pointy ears. His usual clothes consist of a New Republic Naval Officer's uniform, and when he's off duty its normal clothes covered by a long black cloak that conceals him from his neck to his feet. Lucy, as he likes to be called, is almost as average as you can be. The third youngest in a family of 8, Lucy has a very rare genetic gift: he has two sets of teeth. Devaronians are more sharply differentiated than most species. Men have sharper teeth than women, designed for hunting. Women have canines as well, but also have molars. In rare cases, about one in fifty births, a Devaronian male will be born with both sets of teeth. Lucy is one of them. His outer row of teeth are female, flat and not at all threatening. The inner row, composed of sharp, pointed teeth is for shredding flesh. When he feels threatened or angry, the outer row of teeth retract, revealing the sharp, pointy ones. During those circumstances it's a reflex, but he can do it on purpose. It startles humans... well it startles most non-carnivores. Lucy's family was a large one, eight children and two adults living in a four bedroom house. Lucy, being the third youngest, had to share a room with three of his siblings. Lucy's father was a baker at the local bakery, he actually owned it. Lucy often hung out there and helped out with the baking when he had nothing to do. Helping out his father revealed his quick learning and a knack for baking. Within a few months he was producing pastries his father only dreamed about. People came from miles around to taste his delicasies. Even to this day Lucy can bake a mean cake. On his eighteenth birthday, he signed up with the Devaronian Army as was required of every male. After going through basic training, his instructors found out he was "gifted": his double teeth. This trait led to his becoming a scout. He wasn't very good at it: he would more often stumble across something accidentally than intentionally. He was horrible with weapons, and couldn't tell you whether the path up ahead was an ambush or whether it was clear. Lucy was honorably discharged after serving his three year tour of duty. He went back home and was recruited by the C.S.A. Despite their obvious dislike of non-humans, they found him to be a quick learner. He was commisioned and rose to the rank of Captain. During this time, he battled against the Rebellion, winning more often than not. His grasp of Imperial tactics was his strong point, he had read the entire Imperial manual on tactics from front to back. He even had most sections memorized. Because of his vast knowledge of tactics, Lucy was assigned as Commanding Officer of a Star Destroyer under the command of Grand Admiral Thrawn. But before he could leave for the distant parts of the galaxy with Thrawn, he was involved in an incident which would end his career in the CSA and the Imperial Navy. During a routine inspection of his troops, Captain Satannus reprimanded a junior officer for a spot on his boots. He said that "A man who shines only half his boots is only half a man", the junior officer was greatly offended by this and took a swing at Captain Satannus. Lucy ducked and the junior officer missed. Lucy then drew his blaster and shot the man in the chest, sending him to the infirmary. The man ended up dying. Captain Satannus was court martialled for this incident, and based on the false testimony of a rival Captain, was sentenced to 30 years in an Imperial Military Prison. He never got there. In shackles aboard an Imperial shuttle destined for 30 years of hell, Lucy and fifty of his fellow criminals were freed. A Rebel squadron had somehow lost it's way and run into the shuttle carrying him. They boarded it and declared every prisoner a free man, on one condition: that they join the Rebellion and fight the Empire. Of course every man agreed. Upon finding that Lucy was a Captain in the Imperial Navy, the Rebellion quickly assigned him to the Navy. He went through basic training, was accepted into the academy, graduated and is currently fighting his former employer: the Empire.
Lucy is a quiet man, he doesn't get excited very often. Even during combat situations, he is known as a pillar of self-control. Panic is not one of his emotions. He likes it when things go his way, and when they're not he simply flashes a smile (using his second row of teeth, the sharpies) and things usually change. He is on a first name basis with those under him, but does not tolerate insubordination. A trait that Lucy shares with all males of his species is wanderlust. He is rarely in one place for an extended period of time. This was part of the reason he joined the CSA, and later the Imperial Navy. Travelling the galaxy aboard his ship relieved the wanderlust to a certain extent because he was in a new port almost daily. In port he would go to the local bars and socialize with the natives and his fellow comrades. Lucy could never hold down a desk job, more because of his hatred of paperwork than his wanderlust. Lucy can keep his wanderlust down to a point, but spending more than a standard galactic month in one place will surely unleash his wanderlust and he will move on.
To find the Captain who testified against him. To start his own bakery on Coruscant, and have people come from far and wide to taste his work.
