| Prince Laurent was born on October 19, 1963, the youngest child of King Albert and Queen Paola. He was educated at the Pius X-college in Antwerp. In 1980 he began his military training at the Royal Cadet High School in Laeken. Soon after, he attended the Royal Military Academy for more training as a naval midshipman. In 1985 he started his naval training onboard many different ships of the Belgian Navy, where he trained to be a diver and a helicopter pilot. After his naval training, Laurent went to the United States to further his education at an American University. Laurent is not married and has no children. |
