Princess Astrid

Princess Astrid was born on June 5, 1962 in Brussels.  She is the only daughter and second eldest of King Albert and Queen Paola.  She attended secondary school in Brussels and then studied art history at Leiden for one year, completing her studies in Geneva.  On September 22, 1984, Princess Astrid married Archduke Lorenz of Austria-Este, in Brussels.  They have four children: Prince Amedeo, Princess Maria-Laura, Prince Joachim, and Princess Luisa-Maria.
