| Princess Mathilde was born Mathilde d'Udekem d'Acoz on January 21, 1973 in Uccle. She is the eldest child of Count Patrick d'Udekem d'Acoz and Countess Anne Komorowski. Princess Mathilde went to primary school in Bastogne and completed her secondary studies in Brussels. She then went to study speech therapy at the Institut Libre Marie Haps in Brussels. She speaks French, Dutch, English and Italian. On December 4, 1999 Mathilde married Prince Philippe in Brussels. They have a daughter named Princess Elisabeth born on October 25, 2001. |
